Default The Grocery Getter

Well it looks as if my wife's "driver" 67 Camaro is going to be a minor project first. As it sits, it has stock suspension (except for stiffer rear leafs, and traction bars), a mild stroker, Tremec TKO, stock interior with working original AC, front disc brakes, and a 12 bolt rear end. The plan is to go with a Hotchkis suspension, a brake upgrade (not sure who I'm going with yet), 700R4, and a set of wheels (18x8 front, 18x10 rear). I like the ZE Mesh, but wow! That's definitely not a low budget wheel. I still have a ton of little things to fix too. The previous owner installed hideaway headlights but since it was originally a stock coupe, it doesn't have the turn signals in the front apron. I haven't decided if I'm going back to the stock grill or replacing the apron for one with turn signals. The gauges don't work. The power steering just went out (one of the hoses came loose and the header burned a hole in it) The TKO is in rough shape and the wife wants an auto. And it needs an interior refurbishing. I'm thinking of the 67 deluxe interior with 80's Camaro seats striped like the 67 deluxe. And that's pretty much it.

Brad it looks like a great car. Might I suggest the C5 brake setup. Not to hard to install and they look great. Kore3 has a kit for the rear and it works great! It would be easy to replace the lower valance and keep the hide away head lights. If you do go back you'll have do a little welding and that could burn the paint....just a little food for thought.

Have fun!

Actually the way I understand it is the RS front end conversion needs tabs welded to the standard fenders...but to go back you should just need to bend the rs tabs out of the way....but of course I could be wrong!

Thanks guys. As far as the grill, it's actually cheaper to get the parts for the valance than the stock coupe grill. So I think I'm going to keep the hideaways. And hopefully we can get the car finished quick so the wife will let me get back to getting the Mustang done. I need to make sure my 351 can smoke her 383.
