Default Ceramic Clear Coat, and Water Based paint?

So I stopped by my painted the other day, talked about getting my truck in the shop next spring and discussed colors. He mentioned for a extensive build like mine, it would like to use a ceramic clear, only because it reduces swirls etc. Plus I told him I wanted a true black with blue toner in it to make it pop, and he instantly mentioned using a water based paint. Figured I'd ask everyones opinions about these products since I don't know much about them. Thanks in advance!

i will say that mercedes uses a ceramic clear on most of there newer cars and its fantastic, doesnt chip easily, no swirls, no marring. its extremely expensive but what paint isnt. im not a fan of water based paint but thats because my shop doesnt have the booth for it. water based paint tends to need a certain type of airflow in the paint booth to work properly. it all depends really on what your painter is comfortable with, if he is comfortable and capable then you should be fine!!!!

ceramic is good for evryday cars bad for hot rods, hot rods get scratches and the higher end hs clears sand and buff 1 yr later like they were sprayed last week, the ceramic get super hard which makes it scratch harder and be better for everyday use but bad for polishing and making the car/truck look just painted all the time

hmm you make a good point on it being harder to polish. I did a little research and looks like there are some good polishes out there designed for the ceramic, and due to the fact this will be a ever"nice"day driver I think it may be the right choice. Thanks for your input.
