I have seen on other car forums where folks have really gone after these scumbag types. Found out and verified where they lived, posted pics of the house, cars, etc. Found out where their day job was and posted that with phone numbers. Just be careful, you never know what you're getting into.

I have paid via paypal with a credit card and canceled the transaction via the credit card company with no difficulties. I supplied a very long list of information to both paypal and my CC company, and all seemed to have gone OK.

I have been through this myself, and I can tell you, if you will take the time to document everything and contact the Attorney General of the US, and the Attorney General of the state the guy lives in, then contact ebay with the copies of what you sent, who you sent them to, and copies of the money orders. They will get on the ball and shut that MF down.
Be sure and call the money order people with the stubs and get copies of the cashed money orders sent to you when you put your package together. That will confirm that the money was sent and cashed by the party you are making a complaint about.

It is a federal crime to use the US Post to commit fraud and I think it is a felony. By leaning on the state Attorney General they can start the process a bit quicker being local and will do so, when they know the US AG has also been contacted.

This will get the ball rolling for you. It will take a bit of time but it is worth it even if you don't get your money back, which you might be able too since it's only a couple thousand bucks vs. going to court for a felony charge.

I dealt with an asshole in Florida that pulled a scam on a number of folks. The State AG was aware of the person before I even contacted him. That guy, and his wife are in jail, and they almost lost their kids to foster care, but the Grand Parents took the kids.

Be sure and send everything certified and return receipt so you can document that it was received and when it got there. Nothing gets lost that way, and they will know you are serious.

When you write your letters, put the certified number on the top of the letter as well before you send it out. In case the envelope and the letter get separated in the office.

Write a demand letter to the person who screwed you by doing the same thing first, (Demand letter with supporting documents and certified with Return Receipt), and be sure to CC. at the bottom of the page the people you are intending to copy if the turd doesn't come through. Give a specific amount of time when they must comply with your demand. I think it is 30 days, but check the US and State sites to make sure.

That in itself might be enough for him to know he has opened a bag of worms with you. The Government will follow through if the proper paths are taken, as will ebay. However unless you do it officially, there is no incentive for them to do anything because you could be a crank for all they know.

By sending out all of this paperwork, they have no choice but to move on it.

I'm not an attorney, but I damn sure paid for one and this is the track I was told to take. It got the ball rolling as well as some heads. :-)

All the contact numbers and the information needed to get this started, is on the internet. Use it and get rolling the sooner the better.

 Good Luck,

 Ty

BTW: If you do have to hire an Attorney to file any paperwork for a lawsuit, be sure and do it quickly in your town. If it ever has to be defended, They will have to come to your state to address the court. Otherwise it might be the other way around.

I also had this happened to me with Ebay/PayPal. About 2 years ago, I bought a plasma from the guy in Phoenix, AZ. I was out $2500.00 and PayPal was a f!@#$%ing joke, BBB, State AG, nor local television station was able to help me. But I kept on contacting the Phoenix Police department and finally some detective was able to take the report and did a follow up. I was lucky enough to get all my $2500 back in installment payments, but at least I got it all back. So the moral of this is keep calling the police department and be persistent in asking for help. This will eventually get resolved.
 Good luck,

Hello friends, after some of you gave me the advice to contact the police in Noblesville I did so and a criminal cop named John Bunch came in touch.
After some weeks that the scammer tried to come out of his responseability he sent the cylinder heads now to my friend in Alabama.

They even arrived but I still need his description of the containt of the box since I would not doubt that the rip off artist sent me a pair of bricks of bit flower pots
Now my friend told me the shipping to Vienna/Austira/Europe would be 500-700USD since the post office told him the item is to heavy.

As far as I am informed the heads got 37lbs, that seems not to be soooo much, maybe it is just me.

Now I think about a seperate shippings for each head.

Is one of you from Alabama and could help me to get a shipping quote.

That must be cheaper.

I have bought a hidden headlight assembly for my 68 Impala including the front profile that is f......g big (just as width and tall as the front of the entire car is).
That piece and another box with all the parts else was not even 200$.

Gratefull for any hint.

Thanks for your time and every member that shared my pain in a hard time
   - YOU REALLY HELPED ME A LOT -

I'm not from Alabama, so no help there, but I bet you could ship them cheaper individually, and maybe remove the rockers if they are on there to prevent damage. I think the weight limit is like 40lbs, so if each head is 37lbs, you should be able to have them sent normally. I would have your friend build a small wooden crate for each head. I shipped a fuel injection scoop once in cardboard, and UPS shattered it...and that was a heavy duty peice of aluminum. Good luck, glad you got the heads!

I'm in Alabama near Birmingham. But this wouldn't be state specific....have your friend or you can contact DHL, they ship internationally(actually effective Jan 1st they will ONLY ship internationally) and they should be able to get them to you reasonably I would think. I know some countries are quite expensive to ship to though. If you have trouble there send me a note as I have a friend nearby who builds turbochargers and does a bit of international shipping and he may be able to help.
