Its not what I expected. Its a long story, but after 3 months, I finally bought the following car. This all started when 3 months ago I started researching building a 69 pro-touring camaro. After much debate, I decided against spending 50k for a "project" that would just take time away from my kids.
Somehow, I came across a used z06 and realized I could have a long time dream for half the cost of the camaro project. Having grown up with my grandpa and uncle owning the local Chevy dealership, Ive always loved vettes.

Im the newbie that was looking at the nice 68 pro touring orange with white "funny" rally stripes. Then I was going to just build one from a roller.

Anyways, Ive committed treason, I know. But I wanted to keep you all informed. Many of you were so good in educating me. Thanks for all your help.

Thanks! I do not have the car yet. I need to find a reliable transporter to get it from Florida to New Mexico.

It should have about 490 RWHP, but a few have told me it should get more than that. No 1/4 mile vids since I dont have the car, but supposedly ran 11.6 w/ street tires.

Ditto.

I have seen them picking up several $500k+ cars from the local dealer.

If you consider buying a ZO6 as committing treason, then tie on the noose and hang me. I would buy one in a heartbeat. That thing is sweet!

Thanks for the compliments. Cant wait to get it. I did end up going with exoticcartransport.com for the transport. They were same price, but big player with big reputation, so can be trusted. Thanks for the help and compliments:thumbsup:

What he said! In hindsight I wish I would have bought a Z06 instead of the 69 Camaro parked in the garage...

If and when I sell my current Camaro, I will have a C5 or C6 in the garage again.

No apologies or regrets should be in your vocabulary! Based on your desires and criterias, You made a great choice and picked up a killer car for what was probably a fraction of the original owner's investment.

Good move, Great car! Have fun with it and stay on this forum because it's still a pro-touring car!

Thanks again! And thanks a ton for the continued welcome on this forum. I will stay on. I met (over computer/phone)many great people on this site. I have since; of course, joined a corvette forum and a z06 forum. Their are great people their also. But i love this site and G-Cars so I will definitely stick around. Thanks again.
Now if only I could have the Z06 AND a 69 camaro. Or even better yet, a 59-62 vette on C5 chassis and LS2 like this one below.

Hmmmm.. everyone needs goals, right! Anyone wealthy people want to donate 100k to my collection:lol: Man this car and my Z06 would look SICK next to each other!

disclaimer: I confess, I did "steal" this picture from a corvette forum. This car is for sale I understand.

My daily driver is an '04 C5 of the same color. It puts a smile
on my face everyday!

You'll love it!

Well, now you can get a '69 roller and slowly put it together...ya know when the family goes to bed and the Z06 is clean...what else is there to do? ;)

I remeber someone asking how John Parsons has the time to build a car like II Much...the answer-how much time do you spend in front of the TV?
