Yes, very happy with John at Speartech. I used them on both my '69 LS1 and '68 LS2 projects. They use the nicer E38 and not the MEFI4 computer.

Can you run an aftermarket unit like FAST, or do you need to run something like the speartech unit?

You can run about anything that will work with the 58x reluctor ring. Big Stuff 3 will do it, not sure about the FAST (XFI), but I'd sure think it could. With the BS3, you'll need a cable driven throttle body. UMI has one that seems to be the popular choice for the LS7's.

The XFI will now work with 58x engines like the LS7 and newer LS2's. Thats what we used on my engine when we dyno flogged it at Westech.

We sell em.
GM ecu with drive by wire pedal, custom harness, etc.
up to a complete ready to run package. We sell the entire engines too, competetive with anyone.

Do they have custom Ecu setup for say a cam and supercharger for ls-1?
