Nice truck Nate. Centerbolt valve covers didn't come on an S-10. Cool. The one thing you may want to do is anchor that BSS fuel line going right over the passenger tailpipe. Besides the fire hazard part, it will warm your fuel up a lot more than you want, contributing to detonation.

In that configuration, it must be tough NOT to spin the tires in all gears.

Here is a pic of my '52 Chevy that I've had since I was 15 years old. I've changed my mind on it so many times I can't remember where I started. More pics and other info are on my website. This pic is when we just trying to mock things together. It was pretty rusty when I got it, so we've built much of the cab etc.

Thanks for the compliments. I actually plan on relocating that line, that is just how it was sitting, the bed is not attached and the fuel line is just sitting there for mock up. I also plan on wrapping the fuel line in that fire tape, i do not want to risk a fire. I am axiously awaiting the day i can drive it, i'm sure its going to be a handful:unibrow:

OK, you can shoot me now, but here is the truck I use as a parts chaser. Yeah, it's a rice burner, but I don't want to rack up the miles on the "good" vehicles.

hey zz4, are those seats you have from summit? cause i have the same ones and from mocking them into my first gen, they are way too high. how did you get yours to sit so low? im thinking i have to make a portion of the floor flat just to get the seat low enough, and i am only 5' 9", head is 1" from headliner

Yep, summit seats. I live 10 minutes from there, and found a few on the discount table...couldnt pass up the deal.

Anyhow, are you using the brackets that came on them? It looks that way int he picture. I tried using a stock s-10 bucket seat bracket, and they were too tall like that. Using the bracket that came on them worked fine for me, but I did "massage" the floor some. I flattened the front ridge in the floor to get the angle right.

I honestly dont know how much room I have to the headliner. I dont think the 2nd gens are any taller than a 1st. Im 6" and 172lbs, and the seat fits pretty much perfect for me. Stuff like that drives me nuts if its not just right.

Pro Turbo Systems Gen II Lightning PT76 kit (installed in camcojb's garage)
Johnny Lightning Performance built longblock
Crower custom-ground Turbo cams and upgraded valve springs,
4" Downpipe, 48mm Turbosmart Wastegate, Greddy BOV, Bassani BX Catback, Aeromotive Fuel System, 750 cc RC injectors, SCT Pro Racer Package

Tuned by me. 14* of timing and 22 psi of boost.
I'm using pump gas and alky injection (with a splash of race gas for safety).

Yep, I have the stock Lightning/Harley A/W intercooler setup. I upgraded the reservoir with a larger one and increased the size of the exchanger in the front with a LFP unit.

You laugh... but I just upgraded from the 60# injectors to the RC 750cc injectors and been struggling to get the tune right. I wanted to turn up the wick some more.

The real power... I'm picking up a 521 cu in BBF motor for the '68 Galaxie, then the fun will begin as I try to get that motor in.

well i have gone back and forth on painting it or leaving it.... but it comes down to the fact i hate yellow. so flat black is the choice this week. and "if" i keep the "riverton wyoming" logos, they will be brand new copies of whats on it.

Here are my trucks,
1st, 1972 Int. Scout II, my weekend run up to the cabin rig. I've had this for about 24 years. I do not drive it much anymore though. The 4 wheeler has been replaced also with the one in the picture lower down.
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h111/johnspo/Misc/huntrig.jpg

2nd, 1994 Silverado I've had since 95. It's been pretty much garaged since moving back to NY and working on the Monte, It's not Pro Touring but does sport a supercharged 350:)

BTW, Nate...Guess I was already a memeber. :thumbsup:Great website. So did you use the regular Sandersons or the big tubes off of S10v8.com? How hard was it to get the tubes to fit? I'm going to be using a fairly radical cam in my build, would be nice if I could fit some long tubes in there without having to wrap a tube around the frame.

ok heres another we did a couple of years ago its long gone I think it went to Iowa, It's a 67 chevy that I bought from the local fire depo. it had 15k miles on it, it was an extended framed dually with a pump on it they used it to pump water out of lakes or rivers, I shortened the frame and put mid 80's 3/4 ton spidles and discs and used the rear out of the same truck, found a rust free box and did a little two tone paint job.

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii154/tellyv/671.jpg

This is my current shop truck weather permitting (summer) 86 chevy lowered springs and shackles and a quick paint job

thanks guys it took forever to build, I sold it a couple of months ago I'll try to dig up some more pics, I used a plate (couple of companies make them) I got mine from weger automotive research in Markesan, WI. that relocates the ls motor mount to where a standard sbc would go then used a stock sbc mount and made my own pedistal style bracket that welded to the cross member. The headers were custom made by wegners they had a set they used on their dyno and didnt have time to make some so I shortend them and they worked fine I'm sure they could make you a set or speedway motors sell a shorty header for the ls I think would work. wegners has basically everthing you need for the ls motor, they made the first carb intake for them there the one's gm sells in the performance book and also make all the distributer front drives, yes you can put a distributer and a normal fuel pump on these, they also make front dress serpentine systems that are killer dse sells them. If you need any parts or have any ? feel free to ask, pm me and I'll get you wegners # there all in daytona but will be back after the race.

700r4 bad choice up here in central wi nobody could make it shift right, somebody makes a flexplate that lets you put any older style tranny behind the ls, 700r4, turbo 350 & 400 etc not sure where I got it from. I would do a 4l60e or 4l80e if I put an auto behind one of these again.

That is one nice truck! What do you mean by 50th anniversary colors? This pic shows that even though these wheels are overplayed, they still look great on the right application.

Thanks for the kind words ! I was just messing with it today. I've got some cooling fan issues with wiring overheating a little. I found one bad crimped connector, but I think i have to upgrade a few other connections. I'm also working on getting the AC working. It's a hybrid of the small compressor for the March serpentine drive and everything else is stock. I've made a list of hose ends and I'll be ordering them soon. Once I have the AC working, I'm going to swap out the rotors, rear axles and drums for the 5 lug version. That will open up a whole bunch of wheel choices.

How did the chassis line up with the body ?

The S10 stuff works well but took alot of fab work to get the body gaps even close.the pics I posted were old ones. Since then I have added smooth running boards and still finishing up fab work. The running board brakets are kinda a pain to make look good from underneath. the good thing is the Truck sits very low without even baggin it. We had to raise bed floor about 6 inches, the toeboard and trans tunnell had to be built. The good thing is the wheel base/openings are perfect. We were also able to get the blower under the hood.Hardest part is really just body panel alignment with all four fenders, runnin boards etc moving so much. If you were just building a driver it would not be hard at all. I also gained a ton of rear tire room on the rear. I have a 305/40/22 on the rear and still have room for more without even toucing the frame rails. The other good thing is the ground clearnce. The sheetmetal is only thing low. If you got air in it just enuff to drive, the lowest thing is the trans cross member and it tucked way up in the truck.

Hey Marty hows it going? The green and balck one is the same truck, Carter just did me some renderings so we could figure out what colors to go with and I think we are going to go with the green and black. We also did some more mods, it has a modified 57 chevy car dash, S10 runnin gear(Im fixing to start boxing and adding to the frame and been lookin at yours! It has a narrowed 9 inch ford, blown SBC that we fit under the hood. We already have the motor so we just used it.20s and 22s. I would have went with a 22x12 on the rear but at the time they didnt have any hoops so I had to go with a 10. It still fills the fender good though. I have a 305/40/22 on the rear and have room to go to a wider tire when I burn these off. Il post some pics when the internet at my house is back on. It's got a 355 with a Muncie 4 speed, and a 9 in with 3.70 gears. The motor is set back around 8 inches. The chassis is a hybrid mostly 4x4 with 2WD spindles up front. I built it a long time ago. Rebuilt it again, and been tweeking on it little by little.

Not quite a truck by normal standards but still....here's what i'm currently working on. A 1995 Astro all wheel drive. I've also included a picture of the old stereo set up I had in the rear with 3 12" subs sunken into the floor.

The exterior is getting a complete makeover, suspension work to get it to handle a bit better and sometime down the road a Ramjet 350. The theme for the exterior is a mix of hot rod and 50's/60's muscle. The interior a mix of luxury and hot rod.

Pulled out the rear springs and installing a air ride suspension. One cool thing it has a 8-71 under the hood or in this case under the cab. This truck has factory a/c and power windows. Also have a 1984 359 petebuilt ext. hood fully loaded truck with a pair of sticks. the truck is totaly appart but gathering parts and will be done in a few years plans are to build it into a show truck

I'm not a Ford fan - but that is an absolutely beautiful truck no matter which one is your favorite...

One suggestion for you/the owner. Those rubber bands up front need some more girth to them to fill out the wells a little better. Not sure if it's a matter of not fitting or what, but those that are on there look too small.

Well done!

Just realized I had never thrown a pic of mine in here. It's been neglected the last year and a half or so, maybe put 100 miles on it in that time, I feel guilty :(

Since the car is pretty much lined out it will be getting a Vintage Air setup so it can be fully summer cruise worthy again. Also need to get a newer 700R4 to stick in it.

We started with this..

Im planning on a Magnacharger, new cam, and a very mild port on the heads,10.5 full floater 14 bolt swap, and just general clean up. The truck currently runs a 13.98 @ 100 flat. I want to tap 11.99 with it, but if i hit 12.50 rang I'm happy. This is a 2500 with a 4l80 and a 14 bolt so its not a light weight. I EAT IROC's with it.
