My stomach still has butterflies, what a car, what a show. Those darn Germans, they seem to be able to perform mechanical miracles when they want to.

Top Gear was on Discovery channel briefly. I think the fact it was on from 10-11pm on a Wed night might have caused its demise. It sucked because I am a huge fan myself.

There is a pre WW11 Auto Union (now Audi) formula 1 car that is suppose to be going up for auction this month. It was taken by the Russians when they occupied Germany and dismantled for reverse engineering. The report I read on Autoblog said it should get the highest price of any car to date. Incidentally, the car was designed by Ferdinand Porsche.

Me to!! I was glued to the screen all tense like. Man that is fast. I did think it was kind of funny that it has all those cylinders, 10 radiators, and has less HP than most of nelsons engines. I wonder what the tourque is though. With all those cylinders it could be very high.

Any idea of how the awd system is set up for the mid engine Veyron. If you think about it, its not to difficult to layout fwd or awd when the engine is all the way in the front or back. But when the engine is in the middle, it's kind of a head scratcher.

They probably realize that with the high production values it would make any of their regular car shows look really lame by comparison ....

Thankfully, we get the BBC in Canada ....

Anybody know the drag coefficient of the Veyron?

It's got to be good! Only 240 or so hp to get the car to 150!?!?!

Actually it's adjustable from 0.41 down to 0.36!
Here's a great tech story that I just found on the car. Enjoy the read.

Great find, very interesting. When the brakes are jammed at high speed, the rear wing gets angled up more to increase downforce and reduce braking distance. How in the world does the awd layout in and awd configuration.

I meant, how does awd in a mid engine layout?
