Here's some good info on swapping a ls1 into a G-body. He sell motor mounts and modified oil pans for G-bodys also.

thanx guys.. ive written to the guy on montacarloss, and im definately going to buy the motormounts, unfortunately he requires my oil pan to modify and that means shipping it across the atlantic twice... so perhaps ill try and have it welded here instead... and datsbad... i will definately write if i feel you guys can contribute... i sort of owe you that much for using that name, ill earn it, or rename the car ;)

i think ill give it some fresh bearings for now, and save the rebuild and ballancing for when im done welding the turbo headers..

I would not even touch the bearings. Those motors run 150k with a good beating, I would not worry about it.

What are you doing for headers???

well the g-bodys ive seen on the web with lsx powerplants all have used a set of scoenfield sbc style headder that is adapted to a lex flange, that way the tubes (long 1-7/8 steped tube) fit the chassis and all that realy require attention are the two middle ports that bote have horizontal tubes on the scoenfields, so the cutting and welding can be kept to a minimum... ofcourse if at all possible i will modify the long tube headers i allready have on my sbc to keep cost down and use my money and time on putting together a set of turbo headers, i am actually giving it some thought to make some forms and have a foundry make a small run of "banks/log" style lsx turbo manifolds.. just t4 flange and provisions for external wastegate... and see if i cant sell enough of them on ebay or thru some vendor here to pay for the tools..but it would take some input and thinking... but being a mechanical engineer it really shouldnt be an insurmountable task... but for now im just floating the idea.. but the forms for the cores are rather spendy, especially if it is going to be furan sand cores, that really are the smoothest, but most expensive..
