Should finish the engine wiring tomorrow and deliver the engine and trans to go in the car Sunday. The guys at Reiter's are doing a great job. All the panels are painted and ready to install after the drive train is in the car. All the glass should be done today less the windshield.

Only 18 days until the car has to be in Cobo hall for Autoramma..:_paranoid

I'll shoot some more photos this weekend. Last night I just grabbed a couple shots.

Looks great  I like how you guy's are keeping the outside kinda stock ie; Bow tie emblem, factory mirrors, and trim. "The wolf in sheep's clothing" type. The pedal looks like the GM Harness DBW piece, but I would guess it is not as I thought I read the ECM on a LS9 was not a E38 unit. Keep the pictures coming!

Used on all aircraft, you can get high density into a small area. Very little voltage drop, positive lock, keyed to prevent incorrect orientation.

The B400 belongs to a friend out here in Ca. Weird that we both end up with our cars at Reiters and we had never mentioned them to each other.

Yes the latch setup is all custom because of all the coolers stuffed up front.

One thing that troubles me is the 160 top mph , with that engine package, doesn't the Corvette do 200 mph top speed? Time to put Stewart -Warner on speed dial.....

we wehre not able to use the stock latch because we moved the rad, air cond, and intercooler forward, so we used a VW latch and made a cover to make sure all the air went through the rad.

Love it but I would change the engine cover. I know it's a Corvette engine but the car is not a corvette. Maybe make a brushed aluminum insert for the sides where corvette is stamped. The insert could have Camaro on it or just be plain. That way the cover is still there brining people's attention to the fact that it's unmistakably an LS9 but it doesn't say corvette on it.

Or just remove the cover all together and show off the supercharger and everything in all their glory.

In the storage compartment built in my back seat is 700 watts of XM. The cover is hinged and covered in carpet. Plenty of room to throw a few duffle bags. No room in the trunk because of the battery and fuel cell.

Jackass is the penultimate PT car of today as was X. The combination is barely even available yet & it's done. All this in the anti-bling style I love.
It's built to be driven, not to win SMOTY. I'm sure Mark will get the suspension balance dialed to match what that car deserves. And you go with your yellow Charley! Quite the dreamy car there. I just wish I could get my car done but it's close to start now.

Working on JA today. Getting all the new car bugs sorted out. We shot it for a Hot Rod feature last weekend. Static shots and drifting shots.

Due to the fact the photos will be used in the Hot Rod story I'm not posting those photos them until after the mag comes out.

I will try to get some other shots of the car outside when it stops raining.

The LS9 is killer. On a 3rd gear stab it will ignite the tires. It idles at 650 RPM and make torque just off idle.

The ride is good on the low profile ZR1 rubber even on crappy MI roads.

Brake feel is very good with the ZR1 brakes. They still need one more bleed to get a little firmer pedal.

The twin disk ZR-1 clutch is butter smooth on launch and the sytem effort seems just right.

I have about 100 miles on the car now and just sorting it out prior to Power Tour.

Well back to it.

We bolted it down to the chassis dyno to verify all system (cooling, fuel pump, intercooler system) were all working correct.

It was awsome. Joe put te dyno in drive simulation and we were able to work out all the drivability issues in the shop. Make quick tune ups and WOT runs with no speeding tickets.

Well after about 70 hours of thrashing on JA over the last 6 days I took it out to cruise Woodward Saturday and Sunday night. I put over 200 miles on it and it is a kick to drive. The LS9 is awesome. Great drivability. Idles at 650 rpm. The instant torque is crazy. A guy in a hopped up 5.0 Mustang jumped me from a 30 mph roll. Naturally I hit JA. Not used to the instant torque I blew to tires off and the Mustang got a jump on me. Once I gained traction I blew by him with a lot of authority. The noise and tire smoke show got me a big thumps up...

I'm no chassis dyno guy so here are the numbers from a quick pull. Joe said these were good numbers because he had a twin turbo 427 on the dyno last week that made 525 HP. That car went low 10's.

We dynoed another LS9 with the same engine cal on an engine dyo and got these number.

Mark, Thanks for posting the pics and all the info. This has been a great build to follow.

I hope I get a chance to see JA on the road here in Michigan before you send it home to Charlie.

Awesome numbers.....that would be way to much drivetrain loss. I'd have to question those engine dyno numbers. Either way a blast to drive.

That is so awesome.
Seeing those pics of JA at the car show is just breath taking. The car just sits PERFECT and just by looking at it, you can tell it was put together VERY well!!
Very nice!:hail:

Mark can I get some info on the wheels on J-A Dia, how wide. offset ,& back spacing.I really want to use the 06/ZO6 wheels on my 72 camaro I am working on now.Just love the look of that OEM wheels. Scott.

Mustang Dyno's are notoriously low #'s wise. Would def see higher #'s from a dynojet, I wouldn't be too concerned after seeing the engine dyno #'s tho

Both dyno #'s were posted to show just what it is. The engine dyno was done at a shop that builds stuff for GM. The Chassis dyno was done on a new Mustang Dyno at Stenods. Joe at Stenods says his same dyno showed a twin turbo 427 making 525hp. I doubt if there is a 200 hp loss thru the drivetrain. We are not trying to sell engines here and posting fluffed #'s. A Dyno guy can make it show any # the customer wants.

Looks great Charley. JA definitely is a culmination of all the others done just right. After looking at it for awhile now, I wonder how an argent grill would look to tie in with the wheels?

Didn't say you were. Simply stating that there is no way those numbers go together. There are a couple ZR1 chassis dynos on you tube. I would agree those numbers, especially the torque is conservative. Edmunds chassis dynoed a new ZR1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC-PQca6FJU

I know the ZR-1 wheels are 19X10 & 20X12 And the C6ZO6 wheels are 18X9.5 & 19X12. And they are differant in design. I was thinking the offsets might be close to each other. I just was hoping some one would know the offsets.

If anyone else is interested to see how this equates to backspace...

Are the wheels being reproduced yet?

They are being reproduced, although I have yet to see them in true ZR-1 sizes.
They were originally slated for March of this year.

Just picked up JA from Reiter's. The guys did a killer job. I'm very happy with their attention to details.
