Ive had my Summer fun with the car and now looking to sell it. Its a 68 with the RS grille. Under the hood is a full roller 454 stroked to a 496 and backed to a T-56 and a spooled 12 bolt with 4.56's in the rear. The car is AWESOME from top to bottom. SSBC brakes and a Hydraboost, matching crossed drilled rotors showing through the TT2's, so the car can stop as good as it gets. Leather Corbeau seats up front. Everything is new on this frame off resto-mod. I can e-mail pics and a complete parts list. Oh, and did I say the car is fast? Lets just say only the serious should drive or inquire.

Asking price is $41k. Over $30k of receipts!

Call me with any ??'s

I'll be getting some pictures up this weekend. Wife is on a business trip and she's got the camera. I will also be putting it on E-bay within the month. I thought I would let everyone here get the first chance.

Pics are coming soon...

Yeah, Ive never driven a spooled car before and I dont know what the census here is on them but I kind of like it. I havent noticed any strange or excessive tire wear and the car launches very straight and never gets squirrley unless you want it to. I got into a large intersection and "drifted" the car into 450 degrees of pure FUN! With 600hp and 600++tq its effortless. It was Tokyo Drifting right here in the NorthWest!

Only disadvantage to someone buying your car is they now have the expense of putting in a posi unit of some sort, as that spool will tear things up on the street.

See thats just it... What do you mean tear things up on the street? So far I dont see any problems with it being spooled. In fact I was thinking about putting one in my other small block 68. Any info in regards I would appreciate.

Pics will be on this weekend.
$41k OBO!

The problem with them is a spool locks the two rear axles together. Fine for a drag car, but on anything that turns it forces the inside tire to spin as the outside one turns faster. On a road course this would be a disaster unless you are doing drifting.

In the real world this is far from ideal and usually breaks an axle at some point as all the stress is on it.

Must be fun making a tight turn at slow speeds, right? Inside tire hopping and skidding on the road. I've ridden in a couple cars with spools on the street, turn into a parking lot and the car is hopping and banging like the rear end is going to fall out of it.

Are you sure you have a spool? Because I can't imagine you enjoying it in a street car.

Jody's right. I have a spool in my drag car which is ideal for the application but I would never run one on the street. You must go through alot of tires.

All I know is what I was told by the previous owner. I have not torn into to see if the prior owner was full of BS or not. I dont have ANY hopping or banging at all. Nothing seems to be binding up to make it even act like that. You are correct, drifting this car would be a breeze. If you even think of blipping the throttle in any kind of a turn, slow or fast the rear end will slide out, the distance it slides out is controlled with your right foot. :D

You may well be correct and its just a plain posi unit. I will have to pull the cover off and take a look.

That's my guess, you'd know it if you had a spool. Cool car and good luck with your sale!

You want excitment? Try one in the rain! Been there, done that. A Locker can be the same way if it is tight. I run a spool in the street racer, but do no rainy day, and the 29" street slicks absorb some of the turning. You should see how much the inner wrinkles in a turn. The other problem is if the car is going through a turn, and both tires are hooked, if you touch the gas, your going straight.

Yup, I still have the car. Shoot me an e-mail and I can send you a ton of info on it.

Yeah I now realize that the previous owner did NOT put a spool in, its just a posi. Now I realize thats a good thing.

I have a couple of ways of getting the price down, e-mail me or call and we can discuss.

Thanks again,

That car is really nice. It's begging for some wheels on par with the rest of the car.
