Pro-Touring auto appraisal

Wondering if anyone has had an appraisal done on their Pro-Touring ride?
Want to be sure I have my insurance value at an appropriate number (just had it painted) and kind of toying around with selling to build another as well.
I see lots of "vintage" and "classic" appraisers out there but not sure how all the mods and extra stuff we build in our cars is considered and whether these guys would know what they are looking at.
I am in the Houston/Sugar Land TX area if anyone has a recommendation.

Personally, I wouldn't waste my money. Look around on the board and barrett jackson and come up with a safe number you can live with.

I have Hagerty and I need to re-up my valuation as well. I called them and they just want a list of modifications, parts and pictures of the inside and outside. Seems pretty simple to get the valuation you want.

I think you are talking about two completely different numbers.

Insurance agreed value is what it would take to replace it if you lost it.

What it's worth when you want to move on to another build is half that number....

I have a very close and general amount of what I spent to build my car...well, up to this point that it's at right now anyway and as Todd said, come to an agreed value that you could live with. You're never gonna get out of them what you've paid for them normally. So, for example, if you spent $35k building/restoring the car and you decide you're not gonna take no less than $28k for the car...set your asking price at $33k because some tire kicker is going to try and haggle you down. At $28k, reassure said buyer that you have receipts, pics, videos, etc of the build process to justify your asking price of $28k and to help him understand the deal he would be getting at that price. Now, if the car was built 20 years ago at $35k and parts on it are now old, out of date or worn out...that'll be another story.
