I need to get the fuel and brake lines through the back floor pan on my 2nd gen f-body. I have DSE sub-frame connectors welded in and the only way to keep them on the inside of the frame rail is to pass them through the rear floor pans. I will not have a back seat and the car is mostly built so this is a last minute change. My ideas was to take a 19" 3/4 pipe on each side and pass it though the floor, securing it with nuts on both sides of each entry and exit point. I'd use some sort of sealing washer as well. Alternatively I could weld it from the inside or outside as it passed through, though it might not look as clean as option 1. MY plan was to then route the lines through the pipes, keeping them out the cockpit in this manner.

Are there any disadvantages to doing this?

If you really want to keep them on the inside of the frame rail, I'd modify the floor to come out away from SFC towards the center of the car. You should only have to do this through the rear floor pan. That way you can mount the tubes to the side of the SFC and then to the side of the front subframe. Basically, you'd just be removing enough floor to get to the side of the SFC, and then bringing the floor back down. Or, get rid of the floor pan foot area entirely and basically have all the access to the side of the SFC's you need. Make sense?

The other option is to go the factory route. Any reason you're not going that way? I have my DSE style SFC's modified to allow the tubes to pass through. I copied Vince's design. My build thread has pictures. You can do this with the SFC' in the car though it won't be easy.

I would not pass the tubes through the inside at all. Channel the floor if you have to.

Good luck Doug.

It would probably be easier for me to put a channel in the floor next to the DSE subframe connector than to try to do what you did, since the car is already together.

I could drill a hole and pass the line through the length of the connector, though I wouldn't be able to see what was going on with the line for the 20" section in the frame, so I'm not sure if I am a fan of doing that or not. It would certainly be the easiest route.

I would run the channel next to the SFC then. I'd make it so you can access and view the tubes and put brackets or clamps there to secure them. I wouldn't run them through anything. Just my thoughts.
