So I'm torn on powering this car. Since the car is original to my family from 71, do I modernize the existing engine Pontiac 400 with someone like Butler OR do I go LT4 or something similar?
I want to be in the 750 plus hp range and forced induction for sure.
Would love some ideas and perhaps some pics on other F body Bird or Camaro builds in the engine compartment.
Thanks

GM showed a second get f-bdy with a LT4 under the hood at last year's SEMA show. Google will get you pictures...
Also, your car would look bitchen with gold wheels.

Nice looking car. I would stay Pontiac with a turbo or two, my .02

LS or LT are corporate motors so in theory it can be considered a pontiac. I would definitely go LS or LT

That is a great looking Formula!
As far as powering it, I don't think keeping what I am assuming is the original Pontiac 400 makes sense due to the other mods you're planning for the car. If you're going to do 750 hp forced induction, I think the better choice is to stick with the LS / LT platform. The aftermarket support for the Pontiac engine is the best it has ever been but it's nothing like the LSx support.
I went with an aftermarket Butler aluminum 505 Pontiac based engine with multiport EFI for a planned 600 hp / 600 tq, get it under the stock Formula hood and add a little weight savings to the mix.
