When i joined this site in 2009 i posted several projects i was working on my main goal was to get my dream car done. This car was a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona pro touring clone . Im happy to say that after several years and several shops that did not complete much work on it Its finally found the right home and in a few years will be a work of art.
The Metal Master Fabricator known as the Dan Holohan Sensei of Metal is tasked with making my Dream a reality He is transforming my 69 Charger body into a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona with many one of a kind features Check out Holohans hot rod shops facebook page to see my project and many other Badass rides that HHRS is turning out https://www.facebook.com/HOLOHANS-HOT-ROD-SHOP-101250329928888/ Please like and share

Your car is amazing, I get to look at it everytime I am at Dans shop looking at my camaro. I cant wait to see how it turns out, Dan does amazing work. I believe I meet you at Dans shop on Friday during the Goodguys show. You were showing me the motor and telling me about the plans you have for it. I am going to enjoy this one.

Very nice! Thanks for letting us know about the car. Can you give us some quick details so those without FB can know what all is in store for the car?

Many of you requested build progress pics and specs on the 69 Daytona here you go there are tons of pics.

Dans First business is to cut off the drivers Quarter panel that was tacked on by the prvious shop then he adds rust preventitive paint to the entire inside he also fills the marker hole and fixes where the leading edge of the quarter where it attaches to the rocker panel and rolls into the door sill

As you can see Dan Tig welds every weld attention to detail is paramount from his shop

Next up cutting out the floor and Rear frame rails that the previous shop Did the geometry was all wrong and for what Dan's doing to the car it had to go.Dan also added a new front suspension clip in these pics. Me and Dan decided early on in the build that it would be too much work to make the alterkation suspension that i had purchased for the car work for what i had envisioned so we decided to go with a muscle car after market front suspension and custom built Holohan frame that gives us the very low stance that i want he is also using a fab 9 rear and I also gave the reins to him creatively for what ever he wants to do and i think he is going to dream of something over the top for the frame and rear suspension as well as many other items on the car. This car is so big he first had to build its own special rack then he had to add to it whats funny is when he starts on the nose cone he will have to add to it again its a very large car

Hard to beat the looks of a nicely done 69' Charger.
Do you have a rendering of what you want the outcome to look like?

Next up is getting ride height set with setting the front suspension and rear end in place by welding them to the rack in the desired ride height Dan cut out every bit of sheet metal that would be in the way of the new frame.
Dan then Cuts off the spot welds on the passenger side quarter and takes the quarter off.

Thanks very much for posting all these great pics.Daytonas and Superbirds are two of my all-time favorite cars and this one getting the full pro-touring treatment is a real treat to watch.Thankfully it's not an original winged car you're doing this to.I bought a 69 Camaro SS 2 years ago after selling my 70 Roadrunner so yes,I've still got a thing for Mopars...knock it out of the park man! She looks great so far...cheers

I have an uncle who owned a real daytona' which is in a museum today. I was at a mini truck show 26 years ago, as a teenager, and there was a guy there who had purchased one of the two last remaining NOS wings in the country (still in a dealership) and he had cut it and narrowed it to fit on his ride...I'll never forget that.
I love these cars. This one is gonna be sick. Keep the pictures coming!

Thanks for adding the pictures. I vote for the Tungsten wheels on the car.

The car is originally a rust free 70 Base charger it was a b5 blue 318 automatic car that was raced briefly with a 440 automatic in it then it was shelved for many years. I would never tear up an original car to do all the things that Dan is going to do to it. This will be the first high profile resto mod wing car ever built Mr angrier paved the way but not at this level of metal fabrication keep an eye on this one it's a trend setter for shure.

Love the recessed mounts for the wing. Small detail that most won't even notice, yet so worth it.

I agree. A step, even if it is wrong and you learn something is still a step toward the goal.
