I ordered a few parts from a vendor here and when I did one of the parts was back ordered and one was in stock. So I wouldn't get hit with two shipping charges I agreed to them holding the one part that was in stock.

I ordered first week of May, Was told no later then first week of August.. The part still isn't here, or even in the country yet. Now they are saying some time in September..

They have been nice, but come october I basically put the car away for the winter.

This part isn't holding me up from driving the car, or racing. Problem is, only one company out there really making it..

Do I cancel the order? give up? Buy the cheap orginal part and go that way?

I don't want to out the vendor. I'm just wondering if I'm being impatience about it..:EmoteClueless:

Sadly it's part of it, it seems. I waited one time for 7 months for a part, and had basically written it off. No good communication between myself and the vendor I was using, they weren't responsive...

Sorry I didn't have any advice but i hope you get it resolved!

After spending a dozen+ years in the retail and wholesale aftermarket auto parts industry, this is one of those deals that makes the dealer look bad when it isn't necessarily anything that he did wrong. When we'd order something it may have been in stock according to the manufacturer, but then gets backordered. You contact the manufacturer to get a production date and they tell you 30 days.

So you tell your customer 30 days like you're told and then the manufacturer drops the ball. The further along this goes, the worse the dealer looks, and all they're doing is repeating what they're told by whomever the part is made by. I totally understand the frustration of the customer, and I understand the dealers frustration. Just a bad deal all around, and I've been through it way more times than I can count.
