I have a Rick's Vaporworx with the 5th gen Camaro GM fuel pump w/internal pressure reg:I am trying to calibrate my Dakota Digital fuel gauge...does anyone know the ohms on the sending unit that Ricks uses?
Nobody at Ricks could give me a "for sure" answer.
Thanks!

I'm not sure this is what you're asking, but the range of sender that's part of the Gen 5 in-tank pump is 33-240 ohms.

Thanks. I edited my post. I am looking for the ohms on the sending unit

yeah, depends. Are you using the 5th gen fuel sensor (part of the fuel pump assembly) or one mounted separately? I know Carl C posted some info on how to integrate the 5th gen sender. My vaporworx tank uses one of the separately mounted 0/90 tube senders. Mike is correct about the 5th gen sender specs.

Thanks Mike....

How can you tell which sending unit you have?....I put the tank in and it's hard to see above the tank at this point. It seemed to me the sending unit was separate from the fuel pump...I suppose I could try the two different ohm settings on the Dakota digital and see which one works?? 0-90 and then 33-240. I know there is only about a gallon of fuel in the tank at this point.

Can you please post a photo of the top of the tank?

My tank looks like this one-

The sender is seperate from the fuel bucket assembly (has black and white wires).

They don't use the sender internal to the pump, they use a seperate sender, should be 0-90 ohm

I tried several of the preset senders in my Dakota Digital menu, including the 0-90ohm...with a know half tank of gas, it read as full?? I tried the "VDO" setting and it seems fairly accurate.... Not sure what to think other than this must be the correct choice.
Thanks for the input!

I agree with Mike. It is likely a 0-90 ohm sensor. That can be checked by filling the tank, disconnecting the leads to the sensor, and reading the resistance. Do the same with the tank near empty. That's pretty close to the full sensor range.
Also, the Gen5, CTS-V etc. fuel level sensors are 250 ohms empty, 40 ohms full. This assumes that the height range of the sensor is the same as the tank.
