Has anyone used the Mac's Pivot with the adapter for LS engines? They used it on 48 hour Corvette. This is my big hurrah as far as big projects go so its a big outlay of cash. I don't want to be cracking the engine open then have a problem only to have GM say its from pulling the super charge off to install it in the car.
I also saw some brackets that bolt to the ends of the heads in a GM video but don't know if someone sell anything like it.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks

Wayne, I've got a high dollar lift plate that I used for my small block chevy engines. It has pulled and installed quite a few engines through the years, and works well, but for the LS stuff, I use a seat belt. I have a 5 or 6 foot long piece of seat belt that I cut out of a junk car in a junk yard. Install a 2 inch bolt in the front corner of either head, and do the same on the rear of the opposite head. Tie the seat belt around the bolts with a couple of good knots, and ter-der, your on the way. Works better than a chain, and is unbreakable for what we are doing with it. I have pulled and installed 3 LS engines with the same seat belt, and it's unhurt. Sounds funny, but it works really well. I used the rear of my passenger head, because my drivers side head is like 1/4" off the firewall, for what that's worth. I pull engines with tranny installed, so it will hold the weight, no problemo. Best of all, the junk yards will give you all the seat belts you want, just use a sharp knife, and cut them as long as they will pull out.

Scott I never thought of seat belts. I did look at some straps with ends for a bolt stitched in, but I bit the bullett with the Mac's pivot.
The Macs system works great. We use it all the time.

I only do an engine every year or so. I cobbled this one up based on a pic I saw somewhere, maybe on this forum.
