I picked up a 6.0L a few weeks back for $80. I pulled the heads to see what was going on with it and saw the pin on a lifter let loose and the roller bearing fell out. The cam will need to be replaced, but other than that it looks to be rebuildable but would like to have a shop inspect it and give me a professional opinion. Any recommendations on a reputable shop in the Bay Area?

Lol yes $80. Was driving around at work and saw this sitting outside on the side of an Auto Shop, stopped and asked and the mechanic said $80. He and his coworker laughed at me while we struggled to get it in my truck. Looks like I might have the last laugh if nothing else is wrong with it.

So I would assume no one in the Bay Area has rebuilt an LS motor before.

Vince left you a reply on the LSX section about an east bay referral under your other thread with the same name.....
I've used S&S in San Leandro before, but haven't rebuild an LS yet...

For my future bay are engine needs I will be going to see Rick Santos @ S&S... it won't be for an LS but still.
