I am doing a 69 Convertible Corvette for a friend in Oregon. It is a super clean numbers matching red small block four speed car.
We have considered many options but settled on the final list:
1. Complete VB&P transverse mono springs, tubular control arms, and poly bushings.
2. Steeroids rack
3. Hydroboost
4. Hotrod a/c
5. Dakota Digital instrumentation
6. Keisler TKO 600 five speed
7. GM crate 330 hp 350
8. Edelbrock pro-flo EFI for Vortec heads
9. Killer Lights vacuum delete headlight system
10. Shaved firewall with truck bedliner texture
11. electric wiper door conversion (yes, I am going to make this an available product soon upon great request)
This started out with a Ram Jet 350, but we changed our mind considering the Pro-Flo is adaptable up to 450 hp (future mods), and is a more complete system where the Ram Jet still requires the builder to supply fuel line, fuel pump, and other misc. items.
I got started on it a few weeks ago. So far we have all the suspension in and 3/4 of the a/c. The next step is to pull the tired old mill and prep the engine bay. Parts are showing up like Christmas around here!
I just love spending other people's money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are some pictures. One thing to note. This is not going to be a show car as much as it is going to be a real time cruiser. The owner of the car DROVE it with nothing more than a pair of plyers in his pocket from Bend, Oregon to Central Florida. He drives often and long distances.
What I am going to do once I pull the motor (I intend to yank it this weekend) is to pressure wash and scrub what I can of the exposed frame, floor pans, and visible accessible portion of the undercariage. Once that dries I will mask off the new parts and chassis black spray the metal and texture spray the fiberglass under parts. It will look great for a non-frame off. It would have been best to strip the suspension and engine, then blast and spray, then install...but, I am also working on a timeline requiring things to be done in logical steps that never require the car to be torn down too far at one spot.
We learned (in Florida) the last two years with active hurricane seasons to never be more than a couple of days away from making your stuff mobile! In fact, as I wrapped up this weekend tropical storm Alberto came roaring our way. At least right now you could put the dash back in, attach the rack, and drive it away as is. Of course once I yank the stock mill it will be totally shut down for a while, but at least it will have wheels under it.

UPDATE
The crate motor came in last week. The TKO 600 came in today. I have 99% of the harness wired and converted. I shaved the firewall and texture painted the engine bay. I did a blast and chassis black spray.
I hope to install the engine this weekend and anticipate having it road worthy in two weeks (cold a/c and all). I am doing 99% of the work myself with some help from friends and neighbors when I need some extra muscle to lift or push something.

Long overdue update.
The car is now back in Oregon. The owner flew down to Florida while I had just over 250 miles on the fresh work. He had a business meeting in Atlanta and pushed to get it prior to all the final tweaking.
Man....was I nervous waiting to hear news as he made his way 4,000 miles across country.
All went well and the car made it home. He picked it up the first week in September.
It has 4:11 gears with the TKO 600 trans. He averaged about 21 mpg running the a/c and 80 as often as possible as he raced home.
