View Full Version : 69 Mach 1 Build
Hello all, just wanted to share the progress of a Mach 1 mustang that we are restoring. Hope you guys and gals enjoy the pictures! Well here are some pics of right after we got the body back from the strip shop. (edit: not sure why the pictures didn't show up from FB, instead they showed up as links, so I went ahead and attached them too.)

Sweet! I really like the 69 fastback Mustangs. What are the plans?
Well first it will be getting all new sheet metal.
This is a protouring build.
390 block punch to 450
4 speed manual
wilwood brakes
flaming river steering column and power rack
global west suspension
Here are pictures of the preparation before we put new metal all around

Nice choice staying with an old school Ford. Will it get EFI? Why not run at least a 5 speed tranny for better highway cruising? Good luck!

Look forward to seeing this come together. Not sure why more people do not build Mach 1's. I think they are one of the nicer looking cars Ford ever produced.
No it will be naturally aspirated, no EFI. We have a fourspeed here for the build but thats not to say that we arent keeping our options open. Thanks for the suggestion. Here is some progress on the floor and qtrs.
Pictures after lots of metal work and on to final assembly before pulling apart and painting

69 & 70 are my favorite years of Mustangs. Looks like the metal work is coming along nicely. Thank god for the aftermarket sheet metal that is available today. I know it takes allot to make it fit but it is saving many cars that would normally be scrapped.:)

:confused59: Dang!
This is probably my favorite stage of a build. Amazing transformation from what you rolled in the shop. Really looking forward to the next step.
Thanks for all the encouragement and comments! Wanted to post some pictures to show you all the jams painted and actually getting it together and laying some down on the body as well.

Nice color choice! Will it be getting any stripes or other accent colors? Keep up the good work!

Nothing says old school like a carburetor and 4 on the floor.

Love it! Subscribed :D
Thanks you guys. We are really racking our brains over a wheel set. So many options, and it has such a huge impact on the build. Any suggestions would be appreciated! OK So here are the pictures

Considering you guys are staying some what old school, I'd stick with an old school looking wheel. I wouldn't do an updated version of an old school wheel like you can find with Wheel Vintiques but something that has the old school theme if that makes any sense, lol. Otherwise, jump down into the wheel forum where people and companies post pictures of the choices on various cars. There are at least two fastback mustangs with pictures there.

Thanks for the suggestion, those are cool! Along with all of the forgeline stuff.

Thats not a bad suggestion, as we are going to stay pretty stock with the interior as well. I will check that forum out, thank you!
