We are all packed up and ready to start our epic adventure to Oklahoma. My buddy Frank is taking his twin turbo LS powered 63 Chevy II. Runs mid 8's in the quarter, and looks like a Pro Touring show car. Along the way I'm sure we will run into the normal debauchery so I'll try to post some pics along the way.
As long as we don't break I think the car will do good. Hears hope'n.

Right on. Keep us posted. A buddy prepared to go and his motor lost oil pressure the other night so he's out.

Very cool! My buddy that built the "Crusty Nova" did well last year. I'm not sure if he's doing anything this year or not tho. One of my other friends is going in his 52ish Chevy truck again. Had a turbo'd then blown big six in it before but now went late model with a Trailblazer power plant that is boosted. Old dude named Gary Hart, super cool guy if you run into him.
Good luck guys and have FUN!!:popcorn2:

Kind of random, but the guy that bought my old truck (Green '52 Chevy) is also friends with Frank - - we were sort of introduced via good ole Facebook. Frank is building a Nova Wagon too - -right?
One of these days maybe I'll catch up with him in person. That little Nova is pretty BAD!
Good Luck!

Rolled into Nashville around 5, got chased out of the Grand old Oprys parking lot, and landed at Cooters from Dukes of Hazzard. Hit a seedy dive for some dinner, drinks and music, ended up back at the hotel to finish the beer that was coolered in the truck.

Man this is a gruelling event, hard to find the time to post anything. First venue ran s 9.00 switched the tires and busted out at noon headed for Kansas. 8hr run, blew a hose in the middle of nowhere. Got it fixed, rolled into the hotel around 8pm. Hope to get some pics loaded and posted, as soon as I get a chance. Going to bed so we can start it all over tomorrow.

Mr. Welds words: livin' the dream. Again his right on the money.
I've tryed to talk my friend to do this couple years now,
Hi has an '67 VIP Fury, no 25.1 tube frame, more as pro street car. Now with our street rules it has 480 bbm twin turbo EFI, making over 2000hp, runs 7's at 1/4mil. He has also 572 long block that he use to race with before our rules chanced.
Tryed get him to chance that in and as an sponsorship thing I'd promised to him that I would handel all the transportations from Finland to US, hauling stuff there and getting things back to Finland.
He is still more interested to drive in Finnish, Swedish and Estonians. championships...
Maeby next year..
But good luck to you and I'll be watching livefeed every night.

Awesome words of encouragement!!! Good luck!
I was reading yesterday that Larry Larson ran in the high 6's and with a little tweaking is expected to be in the low 6's, due to the 165mph in his first pass. That is just insane!

Good luck and be safe on your trip.
A co-worker and his friend are also participating drag week. He drives a late 70s (79 I think) yellow Corvette.

OKC? Are you running at Thundervalley tomorrow?
EDIT: just read locations. I plan to be there tomorrow to watch Bailey run
Update:
They just blew another radiator hose. All the bottled water and cooler water is depleted..........beer is safe!
Possible radiator cap issue.

Update:
8.93 this morning and heading to Great Bend, KS.
Attrition is increasing in the cruise segment, one car clipped a deer at 70 mph.
"Trying to out drink the Aussies has been a challenge but we're holding our own." :badidea: :snapout:
"Hotel parking lot looked like the Gator Nationals last night, everybody going through valves in the parking lot."

This morning - Rain Delay
http://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-DFFDRf9/0/X2/i-DFFDRf9-X2.jpg
Currently in 5th place .040 away from 3rd. Air is dense and cool, track is crap (wet)
Passenger side turbo is loose and smoking pretty good. Up and down loose not end to end so it should be OK. Upping the boost today and let it eat.
Misting, can't believe they are letting cars run. 9.4 spinning it's a$$ off. Turning it down to make another hit.

I see you guys are running in the same class as my buddy Eric (he's running the rust-wrap 68 Camaro). He's worked on my car on several occasions - you'll not meet a nicer guy. Drop by his trailer and grab a beer!
Good luck!
Ran an 8.97 at 11:40 Pacific time..........long haul for the boys tonight.
