Just had to share this with somebody else. The car is a x55, 350, 3 speed car. Car has already been stripped and has all new sheetmetal, and I men all of it. Dash, firewall, roof, quarters, floors, new GM RS front clip, rockers, doors, its a new car!! Its been sitting for the last two months while we finished up the "shop Beater" project. But now the ball is rolling on it.
I just purchased the motor for it today from Keech Performance in FL, builders of the Baldwin motion 540's. Got a screaming deal on a 406 SBC with twins on top. Got the entire package, motor, turbos, blowoffs, fuel injection,fuel pump, computer, etc. Mainly turnkey minus piping and intercooler. And got a screaming deal, I think I've said that already. Motor dynoed at 1000 HP intercooled, but easily tunable to 600 HP and 87 octane fuel!! I am just so excited!!
Motor Specs
* Dart splayed cap block,
* Eagle steel crankshaft
* Steel h beam eagle rods with upgraded bolts

Motor lists on Keech's site for $29K and some change and does not include all the goodies, like injectors, fuel pump, computer, etc.
I got the thing for $19K complete, all I got to add is intercooler piping
The "shop beater" is not officially sold but there is prospective buyer heading down next with cash in hand and trailer in tow.

Looks like the work of www.mikescustomcars.com/projects/projects.asp?proj=CFletcher69 Theres 4xx pictures of that bad boy... I've been thinking of using my 69 as a core for one of theirs. Does everything come out as nice as their pictures make it look?

yeah it does. This car is actually my fathers. He bought it from Mike cause he was wanting to get it ready for SEMA and my shop load at the time was crazy and no way I would have even been able to start on it. Mike does a excellent job!! I have taken to doing them exactly as he does.

Thanks for the info. His prices on a complete new(redone) shell are less than what I have been quoted locally for the body work for my car. How is the fit and finish on his cars?
Looks like that is going to be a killer car.

He reeally does excellent work. He actually takes the time to hammer/dolly some places in the quarters to get them to fit perfect. Fit and finish is excellent!! in my opinion you can't beat the price. For the cars we build for clients and ourselves. Thsi is all I am going to do is by shells from him. I'll do sheetmetal for folks that want it done, but for anything I'll build for myself I'll just by a shell from him and finish it.

yeah he does excellent work. I am actually picking up another one of bodies this summer. I do not have time with work load to do sheetmetal on my own car, so I am trading him one of my junkers and cash for a clean shell!!

Your motor looks well thought out congrats.From looking at the pics though a tip it looks like you have a -8 turbo drain possibly smaller at the pan .I would change that out to a -12 .I know it sounds weird to need that big of a drain when the feed is only a 4 or 3 but.I've run into the turbo's puffing oil out the exhuast other wise.Looks like your going to have some fun.
