that was a great watch.

I purchased Hot Rod last year on the App Store (a year) and it lasted two issues, i've had this problem three times with Apple. I'm done. they refunded my money the first two times but the Hot Rod purchase i accidently deleted the confirming email....

I'd rather smell the ink anyways. I get like 7 car subscriptions, but not hot rod. Well, this looks like a purchasable Copy....

Cool video, as much as I love the new Z28, Big Red is still a beast! Big Red just sounds angry coming down the straightaway!

The article says the Z28 dominated lap times from BR and the new Boss. I can't remember by how much but it was pretty substantial. In the straights though, BR had almost 10 mph on the other two. 850 HP tends to do that.

I'd set fire to the Z28 and the Boss to own Big Red for an hour.

I believe on test day, the weather was cold and the track was half wet. Big Red spun out on the first lap and crushed a fender.

I believe on test day, the weather was cold and the track was half wet. Big Red spun out on the first lap and crushed a fender.

It was cold and dry. Hot Rod ran in the afternoon after Randy Post ran his lap time for Motor Trend in the late morning.

Big Red had rented the track on Friday to learn the track and to get the car dialed in. Watching the guys fire that car up is like watch a NASCAR fire up.

Big Red Fire procedure:

Plug in oil warmers for 45 minute
Once oil is hot pull dry sump belt and prime oil system
Reinstall dry sump belt and fire the car on jack stands
Let idle on Jack Stands for 15 minutes to warm diff and trans.

On Wed. Big Red ran again. His first session was on Hoosiers R6s and they were running OK lap time and I could see him braking later and carring more speed in the fast turns. The brought in the car switched to a freash set of Hoosier A6s looking for more lap time. On his 2 or 3 lap with the A6s he braked too late ran out of track and hit the gaurd rail. Not hard just hurt a fender. The crew pounded it out and put the car back on track in 45 minutes!

Big Red was about 3 - 4 seconds off the pace of the Z/28. It sounded wicked and was great to see run in person. On a technical track like Barber the Z/28 has faster lap times. Big Red had us by 10 - 11 mph on the straights. I feel with a little chassis and brake tuning Big Red could have shaved a couple seconds off his lap time.

At any rate it was a awsome day and RJ and his crew were very cool. It was fun to see a piece of automotive history run around the track against a car I had a big part in.

Wonder how Mayhem or Red Devil would stack up to either one of those two?
