Guys I'm looking for a used 2012 WK2 (2nd Gen) right now. Wanted to know everyones opinions on these and if anybody does own one let me know anything I should look into.

I wanted to upgrade it with a CAI and exhaust but dont want anything annoyingly loud thats what my other cars are for. Borla, Corsa and kooks make some nice kits.

Had one with an air raid intake and B&B exhaust (best in my opinion). You will love it except for the tranny. That year can use more gears.

Whats wrong with the trans? And the 2014's have an 8 speed is this why they changed it?

With the WK1 (had one too) the problem was at highway speeds the engine would be at around 3.5k rpms but that was fixed on the early WK2s by changing the rear end ratio instead off adding tranny gears as on the 2014. This made the WK2 marginally faster than the WK1 plus you still feel it's still missing some gearing.

The trans is strong, just an obsolete design considering the amount of money you're paying. Other than that, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

It's a great truck, just don't plan to add any power adders. The rods and pistons are on the weak side compared to the first gen 6.1s. I love the look on the new gen, they'd interior is miles ahead

Well might as well let you guys know but picked up my new DD recently.

It's a 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT. 6.4L Hemi, 8-speed paddle shift tranny with launch control. Stock 470hp. I added a cold air intake, borla axle back exhaust, blacked out the chrome window and grille trim and lowerd the rear a bit. Let me know what you think.

I'm thinking of buying one of these, I would love some feedback.

And for the money they cost over here they would need to be great.

I'm very happy with it, it's got alot of very cool features. I'm glad I went with the '14 vs the '12 as they did a few nice upgrades, grille, interior and the tranny being the most notable. The truck is very fast for an SUV, the launch control is pretty amazing and it even can test things like 0-60 and 1/4 times and trap speed. I haven't pushed it very much as far as handling and braking but think my X5 was a little better in that dept. Although the X5 is a smaller, shorter, lighter truck. Overall for the price compared to say an X5M or ML63 I think you are getting alot more bang for the buck and it looks better than the ML for sure.

I really like the srt8 jeeps. I would love to buy one but way out of my price range. So I plan to turn my wifes 2000 durango into something comparable.

Thanks for the info Ryan, I should have one soon.

Was the Borlar exhaust the best you heard?

The Borla S-type sounds great, theres a louder Atak version that I didn't want for a DD. There are full cat back systems and LT headers that combine for some really nice sound. I was very close to getting a Kooks system but didnt realize alot of the full cat backs eliminate the baffles for the MDS system which I did not want to disable and hence went with the Borla axle back system. I also did the Injen cold air intake and Eibach lowered springs (rear only) which I'm not happy with I wish it lowered the ride height a bit more.

Yeah,....the SRT 8 is a bad ass machine.
I do love those X5's as well. I was behind one yesterday after morning mass. What a great looking SUV, especially with those super fat tires tucked underneath.
