Hi Gents
Hello from South Africa just thought I would share the new build that is about to Start
Please Help me name my new project car
Here is a brief summary of what is about to happen

I have a 1968 Chev Camaro RS and with this have decided to do a little different build due to a few challenges this side

I have now purchased a complete Drivetrain from a Audi S6 5.2 liter V10 Tiptronic also same motor as Lambo Gallardo
This includes the full front and rear suspension management system etc

Now comes the fun of merging the 2 together to become a true Camaro Quattro, with launch control, electronic adjustable suspension, ABS etc

Pictures to follow real soon

Any thoughts or opinions will be greatly Appreciatted

Least the wheelbase and track width is the same

Least the wheelbase and track width is the same

This is a bigger plus than you know! Most modern cars have a very wide track. Awesome project!

Very cool project! Those V10's make magnificent noises. Yet they lack the torque we are used to with our big cube V8's.

Do you plan to mod the engine at all?

And yes I have driven a Gallardo with this motor so I speak from experience. :computer:

Yip
I have managed to source 2 R8 Turbos so she will be a bi-turbo and run a second stage chip

this should by right give me about 640BHP and 720nM of torque
which i think will be plenty enough

Thought the idea of new technology was a good idea
Plus e have some really winding roads to all wheel drive traction seems like a good idea

I'll never forget and always smile when thinking of Audi's entry into the US Trans Am Series......and everyone crying unfair! :D

Thanks good luck with your build
BMW parts are being used a lot in various projects in South Africa
That includes
AC Cobra
GT40
And few other hot rod builds

Why is the rear drivetrain from the rendering tucked to the left?

Why is the rear drivetrain from the rendering tucked to the left?
Was just a quick 10 min photoshop render
Will during we do a detailed render
So isn't 100% accurate more initial concept

Hugh,

What's the wheelbase of this drivetrain?

Hugh,

What's the wheelbase of this drivetrain?
Wheelbase is 108.8in
Width 72.6in

So, the entire motor is forward of the front axle line? Maybe I'm confused but that doesn't sound correct to me.

only about a third of the motor about just over 75% of the wait sits through the front drive shafts
hence the Audi quattro drivetrain, This is all based on German engineering and 24 time Lemans winners
so there must be some decent reasoning behind the motor location of the motor in relation to a rear wheeldrive setup

Just built one out of 4x4 steel tube. It's in my build thread linked in my sig. Would also recommend a google search for "Franken M3". My table is a bit like theirs and they may give you some ideas about this type of retrofit. PM me if you want some table build tips. But I think you can get most of it off the web. I think you'd be surprised how much variability there is in today's production cars and just how much you can "adjust" after the fact.

Thank you for that
Really nice table you built there

I also found this one if anyone is interested?
