Hydraulic Clutch for TKO 600-69 Camaro

I am looking for a hydraulic clutch for my TKO 600 trans. Is there one someone that could recommend or one that can be be put together? I just bought a Mcleod RST clutch and a Fidanza Flywheel, I have a BBC.

I have a Tilton master and T/O bearing in mine. Seems pretty good.

Thanks for the reply, how do I set it up? Can you send me info on your setup? I just purchased a McCleod RST clutch and would like to go hydraulic to make the pedal pressure easier!

I'd stay away from American Powertrain's kit. If you don't have an engine plate it won't work. I tried it and it required spacers, and even with 1/4" of spacers it wasn't enough. I called Hurst Drivelines and I forget the part numbers (this was about a year ago) but they recommended McLeod (although he pronounced it Mcloud) parts. Supposedly they're the best.

Whatever you do, get the kind of kit that has the bracket that mounts behind the brake master cylinder. If the clutch master cylinder mounts directly to the firewall, be prepared for a lot of flexing and possibly breaking the firewall at the mounting area.

Mcleod stuff is junk. I went thru 2 throwout bearings before using the RAM unit. If you don't believe me about Mcleod, google it. Absolute trash.

Darren How long ago was this Darren? They redesigned in 2010 and should not have any issues with the newer units. Most that were sent back in leaking was caused by customers over extending the bearing which caused seal damage. caveate: adjust your clutch stop before bleeding the system.

I have used 3 kits from Keisler Engineering and they work great the master cylinder mounts thru the firewall at the existing clutch rod hole,very nice kits.

Spring of 2010. All the measurements were correct, etc, etc. In fact, the tech guy, I wish I could remember his name was awesome. I sent him the measurements for him to review and agreed TOB should work. The straw that broke the camels back was when I installed the "new" redesigned unit it squealed like mad. I called tech, the guy I was talking before was busy so I talked to someone else, he said, it's fine, it will wear in! I told him never in my life of working or building cars have a had to have a TOB "wear" in.

Switched to RAM never had an issue.

What setup are you using with the Ram t/o? Like master cylinder part#, bracket for firewall-like the DSE one?

In Chicago for business, so I do not have part numbers for the master cylinders. The RAM unit is 78125HD. Summit has them for $199. I am using a 7/9 Wilwood master. I will be home mid week and will post up the part number then.
