Difaculty of installing a single turbo setup..

I was wondering about putting a turbocharger on my 99 chevy 4x4 with the stock 6.0L engine. There is a company called SRK fabrication that builds a kit that is supposed to be a bolt in kit..? How hard are setups like a bolt in kit to install?? I am a mechanic, ive built lots of nitrous setups, drag race cars, and Have been building NASCAR Craftsman truck series trucks for the past 8 months, just never dealt with turbos before. Do you think i would be able to handle it? is there anything i should watch out for??? Thanks, sorry about the total newbie question, but i havent dealt much with turbo's before.

Ever heard of Jim Nuenfeildt (a.k.a. Parish)?? I lived in the same town as him and was into the same street scene as him untill i moved to vegas 6 months ago. Anyways, he has the blue 4x4 chevy truck that won hot rod drag week, was in the top 25 rides in Hot Rod Magazine, runs 10.01 in a completely stock suspension truck. Jim has never had any heat issues, surprisingly enough.

SRK is the business that makes those turbo setups. Combination Motorsports used to install them, but they are reportably going outta business. Every company mentioned is located here in Las Vegas.

No, sorry never heard of him. Although, I am about 2,000 miles from Las Vegas. I am in Dayton, Ohio. I am sure you have heard of Scott Sullivan?? His cars have been Hot Rod Magazine several times. Anyway, that is cool truck, but just looked a little cramped to me. A friend of mine is building a big rear turbo setup for his 1967 Dodge Charger, but it is a fastest street car. Another local fabricator Roger Lucas (used to build Sullivan's Pro Street cars) is building the 5 inch stainless steel tubing from the intercooler that is located in the dash to where the rear package shelf used to be. The current estimate for the motor is around 2500 hp and should run in the low 7's in the quarter. It should be very cool, when his car is done.

I thought Wheel 2 Wheel had a single turbo kit for pickups ? They drove one on Power Tour last year...Scott take any pics ?

I can't remember if I took a pic of the motor in Kurt's truck... but it was a slick setup. The all wheel drive burn out while we were at the truck service center was pretty cool. :D

Kurt (W2W) has a rotex supercharger kit for these trucks

Kurt's Silevrado SS had a turbo, he had it on the Power Tour. It ran pretty quick at the IRP strip, too.... but I can't remember the numbers now.
