The hubs are a set from Kore3.

Little more work this weekend. Got the BIGBRAKEUPGRADE brackets for the front, and installed. Everything looks good now.
Still Waiting on a bent metal for the trans tunnel.

Thanks for looking

The only problem waiting, is that they don't make the LH backing plate anymore. I had to find some on EBAY, and also found the calipers at the same time.

My goal was to use as many factory parts as I could in this build.
Thanks for looking.

One thing that you might want to keep in mind is that when you use a fixed caliper there is going to be some pad knock back when using a hub with tapered bearings. Modern cars that use fixed calipers have hub assemblies.

So a little update. Been working on the coil mounting and the routing of the wiring harness. Also, the breakdown of the harness, and how they plug into the computer.

My plan is to run all the wiring for the ECM and engine through bulkhead fittings to ease the process of installation and removal if that ever needs to happen.

Copied the Stielow mounting of the coils like he did on the Hobbs Camaro.

The family decided to get me the Lokar big block style valve covers for my birthday. My son was in on leave, and made that happen.

Ended up having to get another intake to make the Lokar valve covers work with my injectors. There just wasn't enough room to plug them up.

Intake swap..... From what to what?

Intake swap..... From what to what?

The PSI Intake, which I beleive is their proprietary intake, to the Holley Brand intake. It allowed me to use the Lokar covers, and turn the injectors to the inside of the fuel rails, where the other intake was a little different and didn't allow the connector of the injector on either side of the rail.

Thanks,

Bill

TY for the response.

I intend to so an LS swap but want to maintain the carb/old school visual. I didn't realize a certain intake might be an issue over others if wanting to use the faux BBC covers so the clarification helps.

So it has been a while since I posted, but there has been a lot of work going on in the garage. As I have been working on wiring, getting it routed under the intake and such. Then moved to the trans tunnel. I had made a template, and a friend was going have his metal shop that does work for him to bend it up for me. Waited for over two months, and nothing. So, I went and picked up some metal, and decided that since another friend has a metal break, then we would give it a try. I will say, it worked.

Before I welded it in, I put the seat belt bolt backers in place, and also cut the hole for the shifter. I also welded in thicker material under the shifter opening, so that I can put on a rubber boot.

Moving on, preparing for the engine harness to go through the firewall, I decided to use bulkhead connectors. If I ever need to remove the engine, just twist the plug and remove.

I then got the engine reinstalled into the car, to do more test fitting. Now, it is time to cut the harness and work on getting it all in place under the dash.

Now for a question. There is a connector for the A/C Pressure switch. On a Vintage Air unit, will it be in the inside of the car? Not sure where it would be on the outside.

Thanks.

The ones I've had are usually built into the hard lines right at the condenser or in the drier itself. I use a trinary switch (instead of binary) if using electric fans.

Thank you. That one really stretched me. There is still some welding that needs to be done, but it is minor.

Latest update. Got the engine harness routed so I could move toward the two bulkhead connectors for the pass through on the firewall. I made a pin-out list so that I could keep up with what goes where.

Started plugging in each wire.

Once I knew where each wire was going in the connector and crimping on the terminals.

HEEP

After a long Saturday, every wire was terminated and in the connector.
Next step is to get the covering on the wires for all of the harness.

Well, it seems I haven't been keeping up with this thread like I should. However, with some life issues like the passing of my father-in-law and the birth of a grandson, some things take precedent.

So I left off with the rear bumper. I started working to try to make it fit better, not necessarily to custom flush and mold the bumper to the body, but to just bring them in t the end, and make them line up with the body a little better.

So after a couple of days with the bumper kicking my butt, I moved into the interior. Getting ready to install the Vintage Air system, the new dash and Dakota Digital gauges, and determine where to mount the ECM, DD module and PSI harness components.

I had seen pictures on Ironworks page of the Chevelles he is building, which are so impressive. Tried to copy the bar that he runs behind the dash to mount some of these components.

I temporarily installed an old Malibu dash that I had, to check fitment.

HEEP

Moving on, I then installed the new SS dash, with the gauges so that I could determine component mounting.

HEEP
01-07-2026, 07:05 AM
Made the ECM mount, then found the mounting spot on the dash bar, tacked it in so that I could check fitment and find the spot for the DD Module. Then removed the dash and set up the DD wiring.

Next was to set up the mounting of the Vintage Air Evap box. I did not want to run bolts through the firewall, as it has already been smoothed. Made some plates with studs welded in so that I could weld those to the inside firewall and mount the unit.

So keeping in line with what has been completed. Made a bracket for the American Autowire Hwy 22 fuse block. Got it mounted in the car close to where the original fuse block went through the firewall.

Then moved on to the clutch resorvoir to finalize the mounting and the routing from under the dash of the Malwood clutch system.

Next up, was making a throttle pedal mount, and getting it mounted in the car. From there, I moved to the PSI ECM wiring going to the firewall plugs. Yes, the wife let me use the kitchen island to lay everything out. She is a jewel, as I am sure everyone's here is as well.

Next comes routing the wiring under the dash. Bought some magnets for band ties that seem to be interesting for the routing. More on that later.

Thanks for looking.

Yeah, I'm looking at the same wiring plug setup on mine, fortunately I won't be in a rush. I also have a big kitchen table lol.

I used the magnet on my Camaro and once all the wiring was complete I put a little panel bound in the center of the magnet ring to make them permanent.

Had not thought of that, but will look into it. Seems like a good way to finalize the process.

Scott, thank you for the kind words. It does seem that this is part of life now, but it is all good. I have been fortunate that I had some time during the holidays to work on it.

I still plan on getting by to see you at some point, as we discussed in the past.

So getting this updated. Been working just about every weekend on it. Running wires, mounting things and actually pinning out the bulkhead connectors.
Ran the tubes for the hydraulic clutch, and now getting ready to do the main vehicle wiring. Mounted junction blocks to feed other grounds and voltage requirements.
Used magnetic band tie holders to route the wires. This kept me from having to add studs via welds.
Also, had the grandson helping out when I was actually pinning out the connectors.

For some reason, my pictures won't load. I will try again when I get a better connection.
