Priced out gauges and DSE cluster and just about had a heart attack on what that will cost!! Im curious if anyone has tried fitting a stock cluster and gauges from a donor car? I was in a customers 99 mustang gt and really liked the gauge layout. Please let me know if anyone has tried this or has some ideas. Thanks

Really depends on how electrical minded you are. Water, oil, fuel, and volts should be easy. You'll just have to make sure you use the correct sender to match what the gauges in the 99 GT would expect for a reading. The speed and tach may require some sort of converter box. This will depend on your drive train. LSx engines have a tach signal like a four cylinder car and the GT dash may not agree with this signal. Electronic GM transmissions have a pulse sensor for speed in the transmission. This pulse may also not be what the GT dash wants and will have to be changed. I think it could be done but it will require some work and custom tuning. It more than likely won't be a simple plug and play type deal.

Ya the tach and speedo were my concern. I looked at the wiring schematic and they use some sort of signal through the body control module. I work as a tech and not afraid of digging in so I think I will give it a try. Just having trouble accepting the fact that I gotta spend minimum. 1500 bucks just to mount and monitor the engine. That doesn't include all the senders either........ouch lol. Thanks for your info and I will keep u guys posted. Thanks
Steve.

wow really liking that vintage look!!!!! looks like it belongs there! My biggest problem is i really dont like the hump in the middle of the cluster and the dash pad follows that as well. I wanna try and go with a nova dash pad and have a cleaner face plate for the guage lay out.
