As you can see it is very clean and will not take much to clean prep and coat before it goes back together. rear end is out and the gas tanks as everything will be new going together.

Not much left of the suspension and frame. Looks like I parked it where I shouldn't of...Frame will head to Powder Coating and then this can all go back together.

Marty,
It is an LT4 out of a Corvette that I had built. It is ready to go in with the tranny. Just have to get the sub frame back from Powder Coating. They need it all this week as I just dropped it off this morning.

Gives me time to address the underside of the car, the rear suspension and fuel tank.
Enjoy

Mike, It is in the HRIA/ARMO booth inside the main hall by RideTech in Hot Rod Alley. They take 6 cars each year for the inside booth to show company parts on cars from the industry. This one has a bunch of those.

See you next week for the tour, looks like I will be driving the Goodguys yellow 69 Camaro and not my 70 Camaro.

I received the new plastic dash bezel and have also replaced the fake clock with a tach in the dash. The tach is made by Shiftworks and comes with a little box that runs the tach right off the (-) side of coil. The new bezel looks good the old one was not bad but someone had broke the wiper switch off it at some point in its life. Installing the Retro-fit radio in the dash and that part is ready to install.

Did a few more things to the NOMARO since the powder coater is taking so long on the sub frame.

Painted the whole bottom of the car and the firewall.

Received the parts from TCI for the Ford 9" rear end with their torque are assemble kit. Here is the tire from BFGoodrich at ride height.

http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/w366/69nomaro/Comova/a3_zpsb4002707.jpg (http://s1072.photobucket.com/user/69nomaro/media/Comova/a3_zpsb4002707.jpg.html)

Now to send the TCI items to the powder coater and get all this stuffed under the car. Budnik Wheels were cutting the wheels yesterday so those should be here soon. Working on getting as much done before I leave on the tour for two weeks.
Enjoy Ed

Well t was a busy weekend under the NOMARO...
The sub frame with Engine and Tranny were set back under the body and the front suspension was installed with the 14" front rotors and calipers.

http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/w366/69nomaro/Comova/aa_zps9b2affd4.jpg (http://s1072.photobucket.com/user/69nomaro/media/Comova/aa_zps9b2affd4.jpg.html)

The Engine is all bolted up and just have some wiring and the radiator to install along with the AC lines. I wanted to leave the stock heater box to make it look more stock.

http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/w366/69nomaro/Comova/ac_zpsb9a61e8c.jpg (http://s1072.photobucket.com/user/69nomaro/media/Comova/ac_zpsb9a61e8c.jpg.html)

The Dash and Interior is getting close, just have to install the steering shaft and wheel and hook up the wiring.

http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/w366/69nomaro/Comova/ad_zps2f33aa78.jpg (http://s1072.photobucket.com/user/69nomaro/media/Comova/ad_zps2f33aa78.jpg.html)

The rear torque Arm and RideTech coil overs are all installed. Just waiting on the Wheels from Budnik!!!!

10-17-2014, 05:31 AM
2 small details.... But thats what they are usually no!??

One- are you planning on letting those outside inner fender bolts 'painted blue' or changing them out to some polished or black ones?

Two- is the interior slated to receive the wood insert in the console as in the door panels? I was thinking a maybe somtin like a carbon fibre inlay on the door panels wood stripes could /would add a little sparkle and blend a little better with the seats than the actual brown of the wood imitation... There and in the console. Unless the idee is really a resto look then i get it, but having gone so far mod wise.... Not much of a resto type!!! But id get the "spirit" if it is what your after.

Getting there.... and growing on me lol!!

Thanks for all the comments on the stance.
The rear wheels are 19" so it will fill up the wheel well better than the 18" that are on it now.
There is a lot of detail work that needs finished and the bolts on the front fenders are one of those details, they will be button head stainless bolts.

Marty, it was late last night and the camera on the phone was all I had, wish Kenny was here to help but I would not let him take any pictures.

Alan Budnik sent pictures of the wheels, but you will have to come to SEMA and go by the booth to see them. They are really COOOOOOOOL!

I have to go to Charlotte for the Goodguys event next week so it will be a mad rush for the last four days to have it all done and driving for SEMA. I leave Friday, have to be in Las Vegas for Halloween....

This car looks better in person than what the photos are bringing. I have to admit, when i saw the car in sheet metal, it wasnt doing it for me. But after seeing it painted, in person, yeah my minds been changed. It looks like the factory did it.

Trey,
While we lite the fire in the LT4 this weekend and finished most of the list of stuff we had on the car that we had parts to finish. I have the event in Charlotte this week so nothing will be done. By the time I get back the wheels from Budnik, the Radiator from Ron Davis and the Gauges from Classic Instrument should all be here and ready to install.

We may Dyno the motor after SEMA, we will see.

Hope to see you all at SEMA.

Yeah I could start a story that my Uncle worked for GM back in the 70's and this was a concept project that was abandoned and he got it when he retired. Lol

I am headed back from Charlotte to finish the car and get it in the box to head to SEMA on Friday. The radiator showed up from Ron Davis along with the Gauges from Classic Instruments for the Camaro center console. Budnik shipped the wheels that are so cool that even Alan's wife called me to tell me how much she liked them!

See you all at SEMA, car will be in the HRIA/ ARMO booth in Hot Rod Alley.

Well got back from Charlotte, what a great event it was!!

Received the gauges from Classic Instruments with the Oil Temp as the forth gauge since the dash has the Fuel Gauge.

Also the Radiator from Ron Davis was there when I got back. Since there is not an off the shelf radiator that will work with the LT4 in a NOMARO I had him build this one so all the outlets would be right and the hoses would work.
They also put two big electric fans with shroud on the engine side. Should keep it nice an cool..

bad?... thats one of the more original builds ive seen in a long time..

the only thing I chuckle on is that they say you just stuck a 69 front clip on a Nova...

do they not notice the rear?.. lol.

I do say this the "yenko" stuff hides the rear mods slightly.. its more noticeable without them.. I love it.. but thats probably why they dont notice the rear fenderwork as quick..

either way.. bravo!

Yes guys, it went to Japan right after SEMA last year.

I did not even get to drive it over about ten miles. The fun was building it and listening to all the comments good or bad. It was a love or hate type car but the build was fun and I got to work with some very talented guys on the build. It has been done now so that was the cool factor for me and Brian the guy who dreamed it up over 10 years ago.

I am one to build unusual things when they come up and after the 66 Mustang Fastback I have another one coming along.

Starhauler!!!

Trey,
It is a 66 Ford F100 and a 1960 Ford Starliner.

As you can see the back is all filled in and it has a extra large trunk area. It has been in progress for years but I put it on the back burner for about 8 years. it has a 429 BB Ford.

Thanks Ed. Obviously, I don't know my Fords very well. It's a really cool idea. Love the paint scheme you're going with on the outside. Please keep the engine gold and chrome. Wow! Does that look good. Will the trunk area remain open like a bed?

Steve Stropes car is significantly better. Much better body lines. I do respect the tremendous amount of metal work that went into this car but it just isn’t that pretty. Sorry but that’s my opinion

I read the FB post acknowledging Ed's car as the first... "forgot" he saw it until his version was done and someone reminded him? That's sarcasm, right? An inside joke...?

Strope proudly announced on his TV show (which I enjoy btw) that no one had ever put 69 Camaro fenders on a third Gen Nova.... yes, they are styled completely different...but the core idea I think would be the same? As long as Ed isnt offended and Joe is happy, win win!

I love to take bits and pieces from other designs and work them into my cars!

In fairness to Steve, this seems to be the Velocity, now Motortrend writers/producers. Nearly every show claims to the "first to ever do this" Which in most cases is hilarious.. since they are bolting in a kit from a 3rd party :D
