I have had problems with fuel slosh causing a lean out condition on my car while cornering on sweeping turns. I read this is common problem and I am weighing my options. I know the Vaporworx tank has had good reviews but I am already $1200.00+ deep in my current Ricks Tank with a walbro pump. I am also aware that you can by a mod kit to use the Gen 5 pump. However it seems that any pump is going to have problems without pick-ups. For my application (Under 500HP FWHP) I think the walbro pump covers what I need. That said I was searching around and found this in another thread: http://www.liquidironindustries.com/home.php?cat=273
Has anyone used this set up? Also anybody have an idea how you secure the pickups in the tank?

Have you looked inside your tank yet, there might already be a place to mount them. since its a ricks tank

No i have not. I did more looking on Vaproworx site and found more details. I thought they only sold the plate to convert an old tank but it looks like they have all the parts needed.
Might be a better way to go

Those pickups you posted look promising, but the Vaporworx system is the best way out there for us old-car guys.

I am in the process of converting to efi.

Bought a new stainless repro tank and got most of the other parts from Vaporworx.

Carl at Vaporworx has been extremely helpful! I got the plate, ring harness and corner pickups. I will have to do some fab work, but hopefully won't be too bad.

My application is a mild Pontiac 455 first gen Firebird. Should be fun! The other reason I went with this setup is the ability to go to factory high output pump. So, replacement parts are as close as the dealer.

The Walbro pickups require suction to work. There are no provisions on Walbro pumps for this, nor are there anyin the standard tank for pickpup attachment.

Since you already have a tank, as Dave mentions above there is kit available to convert your current tank. See here http://www.vaporworx.com/retroworx_kit.htm

5th-gen pumps can be had on camaro5.com with an OE fuel level sensor for well under $100 shipped with very low mileage. Those guys are putting in the ZL1 pump for big power/supercharging so they don't need their original any longer.

For your power level skip the corner pickups to make your life easier and less expensive.

Hi Carl,

Thanks for the info as I did not know the walbro had no provisions. I am going to go ahead and mod my tank with your Retroworx kit. I will be sending you a PM for the order information you require.

Thanks
