My car originally had i think an 850 CFM Holley 4150 Pro and it just wouldn't run right no matter how much i tuned it. Between that and the lack of choke i knew the EFI was the first upgrade on my list.

I honestly chose this system for its ease of use and the bulletproof support of MSD as a company for years.

I ordered the kit from Summit and as many know the kits have been on back order since SEMA 2011 since the demand has been overwhelming.

My kit came and was missing some hardware like screws, nuts and clamps so i just dealt with it in excitement to just run to the store a few times but the actual truth is my kit must have been installed, blown up and returned back to Summit or something because after the full install the system was dead. I called Summit and they were useless so I called MSD direct and Joe in tech was great at answering my questions and soon enough they overnight shipped me a new power module and hand held.

My install was a breeze the toughest part was removing the fuel, removing the fuel lines and running the new lines in its place and making it look professional which i did. Mounting the pump on the mustang is a bitch because of the lack of space so i mounted to the inside drivers frame rail, not an easy task but it finally got bolted down there. My fuel filter is on the outside driver front frame rail adjacent to the torque box area.

In minutes of installing the screen lit up and so did my smile. the car fired up in seconds and took a few min to idle. I had to adjust the throttle plate adjustment a touch to get my idle down to 800.

I have only taken the car out for a quick 20 min blast but its like a different car, the car pulls so damn hard now and the response is so amazing. MSD said once i drive more it will only get better. I need to play around with the AFR targets to lean it out some more and adjust pump squirt to stop the exhaust backfiring pop once I tip in full throttle and let off.

For the money this is by far the best upgrade i think i could have done. I plan to drive the hell out of my car this weekend and will report back with more details and photos.

For anyone buying these kits just keep an eye if anything is missing from your box as this may be a sign of a returned item and a depressed day after the install when it doesn't fire up. Also the 15ft of line may not be enough depending on how you run it so keep that in mind and make sure your auto parts store carries high pressure EFI fuel line in case you need to run out.

If anyone has questions reply here or send me a PM.

Philly,
This is news i like to hear. I have one on the car i'm doing now just dont have it to the point of fire up yet. I am anxious though. Are you running it with or without timing control?

Im running it without timing control for now, im too lazy to yank my distributor to lock it out etc.

make sure you solder all your connections, double check all clamps and fittings before you fire it up. I didn't really have to mess with the throttle blades much, the car fired right up i set my RPM target at 800 and i adjusted the front blade to close so the idle would come down, it was fairly simple.

i plan to play around with more fine tuning this weekend. Once i lean my AFR out a touch the car should scream even more, its fast as hell right now.

So far i put on about 75+ miles on the system and its running 99% awesome.

my only issue is a stupid idle problem after i come off the gas hard, roll to a stop the idle drops below my 850 target, stumbles then picks back up, it hasnt stalled but its annoying and when the engine goes below the 850 RPM my vacuum for my brakes goes dead.

I have played around endlessly with adjustments of these throttle blades and nothing seems to correct it. my AFR are perfect and as far as power its screaming.

il keep everyone posted whether this is a hardware sensor issue or firmware issue.
