Well since I have decided for now that my 69 Camaro will be set up more for the 1320 I really wanted something I could DD and do some fun autocross/track days. I had picked up a 240Z and a LQ4 but it was just going to be way to much work for me. I have two little girls 5 and 8 that doesnt give me much time to wrench. So I sold it and picked up a 1990 LX Mustang 5.0. The car is serving now as a fun little DD and gives me a break from my diesel pick up. Not planning on doing anything crazy with the car just budget fun. The car alreay has some Eibach Sportline springs/tokico blue shocks/underdrive pulleys. Plans for the car:

Swap AOD auto for T-5 when it dies
2.73 gear swap to 3.55's
17x9 wheels all around/sticky tires
subframe connectors
aftermarket upper and lower arms
AFR 165 heads down the road

Love the foxbody's. Sometimes I think about buying one instead of dumping all my money and time fixing my chevelle's body.

Yeah they are pretty cool rides. Parts are dirt cheap and they can be purchased cheap. Im having a blast with it so far.

Looks clean and I think that is a good choice. I always watch my local craigslist for those. I really like the notchbacks. I have also been thinking a 99-04 are priced well.

Thanks guys it should be a fun little ride for the coin. Need to upgrade to 5 lug so I can run the later model mustang brakes and wheels. Also has AC just needs to be charged I hope. This little efi 302 is very torqey in low to mid range and should be well suited for Autocross.

Same here. I would love to build one to cruise the streets/highways with a nice LS powered engine. Maybe even a BBC! :unibrow:

I would love an LS as well but the smog police here is cali are nuts! My current motor is in great shape and only has 114K on it. So most likely will do a set of AFR 165 heads and a E303 cam. Both are 50 state legal and should really wake the little 302 up in the upper powerband.

im not one to advocate brand swapping. but an Ls would be perfectly smog legal as long as you retain the factory LS smog equipment. only thing is after the swap you would need to go to sacramento and get it Bar'd and after that you will get paper work and they will put a sticker in your door jamb okaying the swap so smog techs wont get all crazy!

Im a ford guy so of course I say KEEP IT FORD! you may want to consider some 3:73's. I see a lot of rearends with gears come up for sale over at cafords.com should sign up so you can find foxbody parts!

Yeah they may be an option down the road but wanting to keep this sucker very basic and simple. Just burned out on major projects. Mainly due to time to work on stuff and funds. Heads and cam swap would be pretty cheap for the most part and should make about 300 rwhp or so. Im on cafords as well. Lots of deals to be found. I picked up a super clean set of 3.55's on craigslist the other day for $50. Still looking to keep the rpm's ideal and the 3.55's is right at the limit of were I want it. This car is my true DD right now 99% of the time. Giving my Duramax a break..lol.
