I was thinking about painting my 69 camaro lemans blue, i would really like to find a color that is very similar but maybe with some pearl in it instead of all metallic. If anyone knows of color like this please let me know
Thanks

duponts reformulation I swear has pearl in it. have not looked at the formula but flops a little green or purple depending on lighting.

the wrx blue is a nice paint but it looks a little darker than what i wanted, but what do you think about jetstream metallic blue on the 2010 corvette it supposedly has pearl in it as well.
thanks

-Mattjet stream is a tricoat, be prepared to spend some bucks. I think it is a little lighter than lemans

Yeah, jet stream blue is a nice color. But in many case's is out of most do it yourself painter's ability because it's a 3-stage color which is more difficult to spray out properly. We have a lemans blue 69z at shop I recently painted with dupont chromabase and I'm sure the formula has no pearl in formula. I think what Mike was talking about color looking different at times is due to the fact that one of the blue tints in formula has a blue/green side tone which in turn will flop color depending on angle of lighting. i think it might be a little bit lighter than lemans too but i think it looks really similar, im still looking around for more colors too so my mind is not made up yet and i plan on doing a good amount of research to find exactly what i want so that i only have to paint it once and be happy with the color too. I think i do know what your talking about with the green/purple tint in certain lighting and im not the biggest fan of that, so is there a brand of lemans blue where you cannot see that transition if so please let me know. oh and also i agree lemans blue is a great color and it has always been my favorite especially for the 69 camaro.
Thanks

I did not know Jet Stream Blue was a tricoat:mad: My heart was set on that color. There is HOK's Stratto blue, which I really like, but it has that tint of green at different angles/lighting.

I'm looking for a blue as well and the HOK is the best one I have been able to find thus far.
