Help with Resume writing services?

Anybody know of a good company you have used or have heard of for a professional resume. I have a resume now but I think it needs a re-do. Thanks a lot.

They came highly recommended and I had my wife send her resume through the service. She had been out of work 8 or so months and we had worked a lot on her resume and it was far better than the ones I typically see when hiring.

You basically go back and forth getting revisions/questions until you're happy. My wife ended up sending an early copy of the ones they were working on and got an interview and the job.

FWIW, I took a business writing class last year and they were pretty big on focusing each resume to the specific employer. One general idea was to match up the specific skill set the company is looking for with the ones you have, so it’s more customized. This also helps with electronic searches and leaves out the extra clutter so it’s easier for them to review it physically. Say you were a machinist, but the company listed a specific machine, an electronic search through the resumes would be more likely to pick up the way the company listed it than what you might put down in a general resume.
They also covered how to write emails along with other communications that might make a difference as well. Probably more involved than you’re looking for but the ideas and concepts changed how I’ll go about it after I graduate. My wife -- who has been an HR VP her entire career says this is absolutely true...that companies do electronic document searches and they find resumes that have matching KEY words...

Since she retired TODAY... she's too happy to bug much more than that... but what Scropner said is spot on.
