I am working on my 69 Z28RS (true) I am now in the stages of reassembling the car, so far I have done the DSE mini tubs and although I purchased the DSE 3" lowering leafs and offset shackles I decided I want to save money and go with quadralink... I ordered my Fikse profile 5s 18x12 in the back, still waiting for wheels to arrive from Driverzinc, its been bout 4months now.. I have a LS6 stroked to 427 by my friend Pecos @ LME (late model engineering) and Viper 6speed...
I will NOT be drag racing or autoXing the car, so for my stock subframe, I have rewelded, painted and have installed Speedtech upper and lower arms, tall ATS spindles and coilovers, for braking I will be running 6piston Z06 front and rear... QUESTION is, should I keep my sub with all the goodies? or sell it and order the DSE sub? And of course I am on a super tight budget..
Thanks for any suggestions:thumbsup:
Jon

Sounds like a great build. Budget and intended use usually drive these decisions. DSE is certainly top notch product, but if budget is tight and you don't need 10/10ths, you could keep what you've got as it will work really well.

Let's see some pics of your car?

Thanks Ron!! I am not much of a fan on taking pics, but I do regret now that I didn't take any from the beginning, I was too lucky with my car that I did not have to replace any sheet metal, the only one I patched was a pin size hole onthe drivers fender.. here are a few pics with my phone camera, these 17x11 ZR1 wheels is what I used when I rolled it out of the paint shop, the Z is original daytona yellow, so I decided to go with the same..
Since I am intending on using the car just for cruising with a few blondes and brunettes, hahaha!!!! I figured I can always swap subs down the road..

Well if your not going to race it and or on a super tight budget why change what you have?

No Reason to change the excellent product you currently have, there are cars out there that run with and can beat cares equiped with your option that have the same front set up you have now (One Lap Camaro ) for instance.

I'm with Blake and Ron on this one.

What you have now will work very, very well - especially recognizing that you don't plan to race Auto-x (and are trying to keep a budget in mind).

It sounds similar to my set up on a stock frame (except I have DSE suspension goodies instead of Speedtech goodies).

My car handles so much better than I am capable of driving it - I am not missing anything by not having the aftermarket clip.

BUT, if I do decide to upgrade and start racing, I'm going Speedtech front sub and rear!

Them Speedtech guys is allright! :)

You have top quality parts already, no need to swap out to anything else. If you decide to go racing, you are already set up with what you have. Money well spent!

Good choice. I think you have more than enough in the current set-up to be extremely happy with the performance.

Yes Mike, working with a budget, I figured I was close to same set up as Mark Stielow's previous Project X:thumbsup:
