As some of you know, I have been looking for a '70-'73 Camaro that was already done.. I looked at a few nice cars but in the end, I would have to make changes to each car to make it my own. I decided to get a nice car and build one myself. I decided to build one the way I want plus I was getting bored, all my other cars are already done. Anyway, I picked up this car from a friend of mine. He has owned it for about 4 years and planned on building a Pro-Touring car out of it but never got around to it. He even had a brand new DSE front subframe that went with the car. It's a '71, was bought brand new in Winston Salem NC. It stayed in the same area all it's life. All original panels except for the right front fender that had a dent in it so they replaced it when they painted it 4 years ago. I have all the original paperwork including the protecto plate. It is a original blue/blue car, but I am changing the color. I am leaving for LA in the morning for a week, when I get back, I will start tearing it apart. My plans are RS front, full DSE suspension front & rear, Baer brakes, mini-tubb, 4 point bar, LS7, T56, Vintage air/heat ect. I am planing on painting it silver w/blk stripes. Here are a few cell phone pics I took last night..

SW,
Mind if I ask who you are going to use to do your 'fab' work? Is it a different person than the one you mentioned who does your paintwork? I'd like to find someone in the area to do some small fab jobs as well...
Thanx, and look forward to checking the car out in person!

If it's 07 or 08, it think it is Arancio Borealis or Orange Borealis. It's a metallic 2 or 3 stage I believe. PPG code is LOE2 or 905385 and 905395/2. Is that right, SW?

Since my name was thrown in the pot. I figured I would toss out my reason for the big pictures. See were all getting older and our eye's are just not as good as they used to be. So really who want's to look at little thumbnail pictures. Bigger is better you can actually see detail and you can feel part of the build.
Just think of it this way - would you buy a Magazine if it was 1/2 the size. I doubt it.
on a Side note: I am really excited to watch this build.

Can't wait to see this project done. SW you have great taste and it looks like a very clean car to start on. The rusty areas in the floor are a common thing on most of the second gens, but no biggie to repair right.
Full DSE suspension and judging by the dry sump oil tank on the shelf an LS7 or derivitive there of. Should be a hoot to drive.

It's scratch built with 1.75"D .120" wall DOM tubing. The flanges were made from .250" CR plate. I made the lower ring that finishes the tube to frame connection from .375" CR plate.

Thank you all for the compliments. I have to thank SW for giving me a chance to build this car. It really is tough finding customers to build cars like this one. I will try to answer your questions and I'll post more pictures this weekend. For now it's back to work!

I'm glad Eric posted up those pics, I have been way too busy. What can I say, Eric did a fantastic job. You guys know me and how picky I am. Everything was done with thought and perfection. As far as working with Eric, it was very easy. He billed me once a week and I know he did alot of extra work that I didn't get charged for. He is very passionate about his work and he will be the person that will build my future cars. If any of guys ever need anything done, Eric is the man!

Looks like a DSE Unit
Item # 050102 Brake Booster and Master Cylinder Kit - 1970-191 Camaro/Firebird
You are going to also need the reduced angle bracket if it's for a 2nd gen
