I have a 69 vert camaro, putting in 496bb, 650hp, 560 torque, 6 spd, ford 9", subframe connectors, hotchkiss handlebars, tubular upper/lower control arms, front/rear sway bars, caltracs. None of this is in yet. All stock subframe, body panels, wheel wells, multi leaf set up. Want wider tires than 275 max capability now. Wanted to avoid cutting original metal. Can a new multi link rear subframe be bolted in to replace factory subframe? Will the inner wheel wells have to be cut out in order to replace with mini tubs to handle possible 295 to 305 width tires. Don't want to flare out fenders. Want to retain original body lines.

rear sub frame is spot welded to the floor pan on your car. You cant just unbolt it and change it to something different if thats what you are asking.

If you want a bigger tire you'll need to do a mini tub install. Its barely noticeable looking at it in your trunk.

Thank you. That is what I was asking. I want wider rubber but not to cut into original metal. Darn. I'm in a quandry. I've had this car since high school in '77. Born as a small block 350. Been a BB wanna b all my life and now I'm doing it. the project started as a simple engine swap. The engine replacement turned out to have more hp than planned, got hp greed, didn't want to go backwards. This caused the desire to replace all original driveline. Someday thought is to maybe retore to original with all original parts. They are being stored. So now, with all those upgrades, would like more rubber to handle power and looks improve further. Love the look of 305's at least. Can't fit w/o cutting. Don't plan on ever selling, so leaning towards spending the extra to get what I like, not what probably makes more sense. Any advice?
