The time has come to make a decision on the rearend. Going with the Fab9 but have choice of 31 or 35 spline axles. The 35 spline is overkill really but then again if you are gonna over engineer something this might be a good place to do it since there is little to no cost difference. The 35 spline limits you to a Detroit Locker(no thanks), WaveTrac, and recently I've learned of the Currie developed Platinum Trac unit. There is one other rumored to be coming to market soon as well. Having these options helps with the decision to go 35 spline. Just curious if any of you guys have experience with these units?

If I don't go 35 spline the 31 spline w/TrueTrac is likely the choice I'd go with. Just thinking with BBC, heavy car, manual trans, and occasional strip visit with drag radials the 35 spline might be worth it.

Thanks!

Strange has a TruTrac (or a variation of) for 35 spline now. Not cheap.

I have a TruTrac in my Ford 9", and I really like it. Probably one of the best diffs I've run to date.

Just blew my TruTrac in my 9", 31 spline. Went with a new WaveTrac at the recommendation of Kyle Tucker at DSE. I bought this through Moser and even though it's a little pricey, the life time warranty is a nice benefit.
I have a TruTrac in another Chevelle, 12 bolt with a lot less power, and it seems to be doing O.K. for now.

I'm running the set up your talking about in my 67, Fab9 with 35 spline axles and the Wavetrac. Everyone I talked to said it's the best way to go. My cars not on the road yet so I can't tell you how it works. Norcal nick has this same set up in his 70 and hasn't had anything but good things to say so far.

I have a Fab9 housing (I'm doing IRS -- see http://www.currieenterprises.com/CEStore/productsRE.aspx?id=3498) with the WaveTrac from Moser, 35 spline with an aluminum center and custom Driveshaft Shop CVs setup to run with a 2010 ZR1 Corvette suspension.

I'm still "pro-jackstand" class at the moment, but hope to be able to take the abuse of a twin turbo LS. Talking with the guys at Moser, DSS, and Currie, the setup should be able to take the torque I'm targeting.

I don't plan on doing 1/4 mile runs, though. More of Texas Mile, Silver State Classic Challenge, etc.
