Hey guys. Here a little bit about me and the car before we get started. Im 24, and Ive had this Gremlin since i was 16. She was my daily driver as a 232 straight 6 with an automatic on the column. I drove it literally into the ground! Three transmissions and four years later, I said the hell with it! and went searching for a much better transplant. I was lucky enough to find in a couple towns over a guy who had a bunch of AMC parts and purchased a 343 V8 pulled out of a 68 AMX along with the Model 20 rear from the same car.
So begun the process of stripping everything out and swapping crossmembers, mocking everything up, etc you know... the fun stuff! I decided to go with a 4 speed from a late model AMX to start out with, since it was in my price range and it was available. I redid the motor over, painted my engine bay and put her together peice by peice. Got it all back together and running for a year or two and found out that the 4 peed I put in was wayyyy too weak for the motor, so I found a T5 World Class 5 speed and did a few modifications and got her to slide right in.
While all of this was transpiring, I was doing all of the bodywork. Finally after years I completed the body and put her all in primer. So i blasted Slimer apart and began edging her out with paint. Sanded her all down and set her up in my garage for paint. I did all of the work myself, mechanical, body, paint, the only thing Im having done is having my upholstery guy cover my seats, which are currently in his shop.
Throw me some feedback! What do you guys think?
