To weld or not to weld (fender extensions)

Gathering some ideas for my Camaro and was curious on what you guys thoughts were on welding the fender extensions. Or other tricks for a "slick" look up front.

Mine are welded and looks really nice up front. We also removed the embelm holes and smoothed the factory spot welds that is on the fenders and the hood. Front bumper bolt heads were cut off and the studs were sunk about 1/32" down. We built up the bumper with weld, and spent a lot of time smoothing it. Typically, if you don't do this then the bolt heads will pop back through. The bumpers were sent out and then chromed.

x2..I did exactly the same as everything listed by Sparks, and brought the bumpers in closer to the body also

I left mine as is and now that I have paint on it I wish I would have cleaned it all up in that area.

You just don't see that part of the car. It makes no damn difference, IMO. Except for making the car less serviceable. After building mine, I'm so over hiding this and shaving something that makes it a bitch to work on. :D

All we did on mine is weld up the bumper bracket gaps since I am not running a front bumper. Welded all emblem holes shut as well. Just cleaned up the look a bit.

Well, originally, we left it alone. Then I changed my mind and smoothed them. This is why my project seems to get delayed. Well, I keep changing my mind.. Although, it is close now...just the dash left...

Need to clean the camera lense next time.

While we was at it. I didn't like the door gaps, so lot of mods was done to make the door gaps. Although, no welding rod was done on the edges of the doors.
All 67 Camaro passenger side doors seem to stick out near the bottom, so we fixed that too.

Door is off a bit in that photo, but looks perfect with the rubber in the door now. The photo below is a few years old, but the car is rough buff

Actually, if you want make your front end really pop, then a supercharger is always good to do...Although, I had to do some more mods this year...

I'm with Todd...

As long as you only do the lower extensions, then its not a big deal. If you do the upper and lower valance too, then you had better hope and pray you never have to take it off. It can be done but what a PITA it would be to get it on and off as one huge piece

My friends El Camino has all that stuff welded up....top and bottom valance etc etc....looks great, but he's screwed if he has to take it off.
