Looking to upgrade a ls2 to ls3,6 or 7 for autocross. I'm thinking to go for 500 foot pounds and super response. Any suggestions on builders? Kaytech, Thompson any others. Thanks for your help, Mark

HP is not your main concern in autocross.

Kevin Miller's 69 camaro has a stock 80K LS1 for power. Texas GG autox.Brian Finch 33.755 Kevin 33.945.Nashville GG autox Brian Finch 33.142,Kevin 33.352.Brian Finch 550hp,Kevin 325hp.And Nashville was only Kevin's 3rd autox in his newly finshed camaro.Might be a little bigger gap on a long road course. Way to go Kevin.Mark I don't think you need a bunch more power unless you guy's are wanting to run some real fast long road course's.

Most will be SCCA or Goodguys auto with some Road Atlanta and Barbers. I think a little more will help, just looking for a second or two. I think the rear end repair wll help a bunch, We may wait and run it first. God Bless mark

I'd be looking at a Mast setup I think. However Katech would be the cat's meow but I can't afford to look :) .

I would suggest Wegner Automotive. Check out the thread in my signature for the video of our dyne run and sheet. Almost 550 ft# and 7000rpm capability! Just sayin!

Kevin is a hot foot or your chassis is that good. Maybe both... 200hp would put him ahead of Brian if he can control it.

Maybe both... 200hp would put him ahead of Brian if he can control it.Kevin's just that good.We found a problem w/the chassis and will fixing it in the next few week's.Kevin's Camaro has QA1 non ajustable coil ovwer's now.We will be getting some triple ajustable coil over's from Bret V. at Ride Tech.We are hoping that these change's make a differant's.W/ Ride Tech's ajustable shock's we will have more to ajust than just tire pressure. We will show the shock install here and over on P-T.com and give feed back on how the changes are working.Thank's Bret.:thumbsup:Sorry Mark did not mean to Hijak your thread.Scott M.

Stroke your LS2. A 4" crank brings your cubic inches to 402. Then select the cam and heads for torque. I'd go MAST or Wegner depending on your budget. The biggest problem I think you'll run into is finding an engine builder that knows how to build a road race engine and not a drag engine. I know you'll be fine with MAST or Wegner though.

Where are you located? There are quality LS builders all over the US. Kurt Urban is another LS builder I would trust.

Kurt finally got sick of those freezing winters?

I will find a link to Kurt's website. He has built some amazing stuff over the years.

If you already have a good running LS2, just go to the dealership and order an L76 intake and L92 heads right off the shelf, add a cam and you'll be around 550 hp and they aren't high dollar performance parts, just o.e. parts off a truck and a Holden.

Although, I do totally agree with MuscleRodz' answer 100%, if you absolutely have to have more hp, that's the best way to go.
