Looking to replace my 2nd. Gens' door hinges w/ new
I've been told the "good" ones have some kind of brass inserts?
where might I buy the good ones as far as door hinges?:_paranoid

I can't speak specifically to the 2nd gens, however it seems the best hinges you can find for a 1st gen are OEM hinges with a rebuild kit.  The kits are pretty cheap and easy.  It might take you an afternoon to finish.
If you have a full set of hinges already, that's the path I would go down.

Probably gonna have to get on the phone and speak to a couple places that sell them.  
A quick google found a few places that sell them.  
The pictures of the hinges posted on Classic Industries looked like they might have the brass bushings.

You got a pic of your hinges?  It be fun to see hinges that are too far gone to rebuild..... that would make me scared to see the rest of it.  :willy: 
Just rebuilt mine (old Vette)... the hinges weigh more than the door.  :rolleyes:

I used the Classic Industries hinges on my Firebird.  Five years later, still working fine.  Good luck-
