Looking good, Scott. I looked at some of the pictures of the front inner fenderwells, but couldn't tell if you had modified them for tire clearance. On my own car, I can tell that this will be the limiting factor (first order) for fitting a bigger tire up front and still having decent turning radius. How did you deal with that? I know Anvil makes composite units that have more room, but the thought of spending $1k on fiberglass inner fenders (or more on CF versions) is tough to swallow if I could find a decent way to modify the existing, stock/repop units I have on the car.
What did you end up doing in this regard?

MarkMark the iner fender's are repos from OER.They fit like a saddle on a hog.But its my back spacing that allow's me to run wide frt. rim's.You need narrow frame rail's and corvette style back spacing to get this done. The turning radius is all that the ARG rack & pinion will give.

That's funny right there. I would guess that means the fit quality was less than good?

That's funny right there. I would guess that means the fit quality was less than good?On the driver side iner fender where it bolts to outer fender lip every hole was about a 1/2 inch.On the pass side the holes for the iner fender braces dont line at all.

Scott, thats why I ALWAYS use org GM inner fenders, I have never had an aftermarket fit. You pay more if you don't have them but it's worth it.

Scott, thats why I ALWAYS use org GM inner fenders, I have never had an aftermarket fit. You pay more if you don't have them but it's worth it.The iners that were on the camaro were so rusted, and all the other I was finding weren't much better. So I poped for some repops.I only took about 3 hours to make them line up.My time isn't worth much. That what customers tell all the time. But they are on and line up now.Maybe the next car I will try pound out some from scratch.:_paranoid

And a few of the dash touches.

This last week I instaled a set of Ride Tech's Single ajustable coil overs on the camaro.Man what a differants there is in shocks. These new ride tech shocks are night and day so much better than what I had.And they really worked well at RTTH event this last week.As soon as the lift is free I will get some photos of the shocks all mounted up,and have Tom post'em.The strange coil overs I had on the car made It drive with a little bounce. The ride techs ride so much smoother and have the same spring rates.2 weeks ago I drove the camaro 35 miles to a car show(bummer no autox) I noticed the back of the hood bounced a little. After I changed to ride techs no more hood bouncing just a nice smooth cadillac like ride. And at RTTH this week we made a few ajustments and bang we were in the Top 10 shoot out sat. afternoon.Ride Tech shock's and Kevin Miller wheeling the car is a good combo.

Car looks like it came out great Scott! I've been trying to fine tune my car so that I'll be fast, then I realized I could solve all of my problems by painting it orange. Between your car, Brian Hobaugh's 2nd gen, Dale Jr's DSE car, Mary's car, and Bad Penny, orange seems to be the fast color.

Scott, if I hadn't already over spent this year, your car would be looking foward to a long season of me driving your Camaro in the American Street Car Series. Other than the HP it might need to fight with Brian and Kyle, it has everything it needs to be top a top 5 car everywhere else, but maybe Optima, and I don't think anything but a vette, can beat a vette. For the price, it is a perfect starting point for somebody that wants to be very competitive in our sport. I wish that it had been available 2 1/2 years ago, you would have saved me a bunch of $$$$$$ Good Luck with the sale! P.S. my wife freaks every time she sees me looking at your threads:thumbsup:

In the end everyone's priorities come to the top.
So what if his show is on the food network. We have not seen your show even any where on Lat-G, just the DSE site. You know if you hold out to long Scott will boot you off the site. Unless your Stuart, He gets to hold out on us till the end of the line.

Well guy's it time to get real serious about this protouring thing.I am going to quit talking about food. And start doing some major work on the camaro. Will be looking into some real HP. upgrade's.Also looking at way's to take some wt. out of the car.I am thinking a Magnuson 2300 supercharger will fit under the hood. And that and a Cam & heads up grade will be just what We need to make the car a real contender at the up coming event's.Stay tuned,Same Bat time, same bat channel.

Don't waste your money on a cam and heads, the stock pistons are going to be the limiting factor. You'll only be able to safely run about 6 psi of boost with the cast pistons.
coolwelder62
12-24-2011, 11:26 AM
I was going to run the double forged piston's so I can pump the boost to over 40psi.:D

Scott, I made 689RWHP @12psi on my last LS2 engine with a Big Cam and factory pistons.....But ofcoarse my tune was dead on and I was running Methanol Injection. The engine ran Strong for a whole Year, until I went Bigger.
With a mild cam @8psi will get you easly in the 550+RWHP Safely with a Great Tune
