That looks like a hillborn 18-degree intake with adapters to fit the 15 degree ls1 heads

I believe its actually a katech intake, they build the c5r ones as well as other stuff, heres a thread from ls1tech about ir setups, lots of good reading, hopefully i can squeeze one into the budget for my next motor

A quick google found these: http://kinsler.com/Cat_31_Web_HTMLs/0201234_screen50.html
There are plenty others out there I've seen over the years as well, but with the tall velocity stacks, none of them will fit under the hood of a musclecar.
I've attached a pic of Rick Kirkindals setup, (His screename is lil427z on the board) you may want to pm him for more info. Just be careful, he'll talk your leg off! :D
Damn ok...I think the filters are ok but I wonder if you don't have one how much crap gets in the engine from normal driving.

Large objects are rare, but what will ruin the cylinderliners and rings are fine dust. It will work like the grinding stones your machineshop use to hone your engine.
It will wear out the block in no time depending the environment where you live.

I remember seeing in a magazine, some small filters that fit over each individual stack. They were small and what looked to be a rubber perimeter with a filter media inside, and they just stretched onto the stack. I would think Kinsler would sell them if they were out there still.

we have a traditional style hilborn converted to EFI I think when we machine our stacks for it will machine provisions for small K&N style air cleaners

That intake is on my C6-57 pickup. It is pretty expensive. It was like 4500.
It is made by kinsler. It was originally developed for the corvette cam am program. It looks killer. My plan is to make the aircleaner assembly. I have pretty trick idea. If you have more questions let me know. I guess I should look in other sections of lateral G.
