I've been meaning to do this for quite a while now, but I finally moved the coils.

Looks much better, but now I'm not so in love with the factory fuel rail. lol

The coil brackets are from JCG. I did Cris's website, so there was some horse trading involved.

I mounted them on the backside of the footwell area of the floor. There's at least 2" of clearance - they fit perfect. You can see the right side coils in this pic. the drivers side has way more room, but because of the steering column, you can't see them at all.

No problems with panel fitment and alignment. I did a test fit of the bare frame before I assembled it just to make sure. The swap went great, I had no problems. I didn't really know what to expect since all I had was an engine hoist, 6 jackstands, and 2 floor jacks. lol

What was pretty cool was we checked for squareness of the frame when I had it aligned on a pretty new Hunter alignment rack. It was perfect. I was surprised, to be honest, that it was dead nuts on. I had simply used the alignment dowel rod holes in the frame and body and cross measured in a few places.

Another interesting thing was that I had the car aligned 2 years ago when I finished it, and we got the thrust angle set at .01 degrees. After 2 years and 7,300 miles, it still measured .01 degrees. Pretty amazing that the quadralink never moved.

Detroit Speed makes some awsome suspenion products! Their sub-frames bolt on with no problems.. Doing a quadra link in the next couple of weeks on a 2nd gen Camaro.. The welding on the housing are :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

LOL! It's like peeling an onion, once you get one layer peeled you see a better layer beneath it. That's how all of the projects snowball out of control!
I can't count how many of my projects have gone from say, updating the brakes,changing the radiator ( insert whatever part/system) into, " While were at it " and the next thing you know you're doing a frame off/full build LOL! I think it's a sickness we all share.

Scott was probably getting ready to wipe it up, but then thought "hey if I take this picture right now people will think my floor actually gets dirty." Then while he was taking the picture he was twitching, horribly, with the thought of oil sitting on his clean floor. :lol:

It is amazing the difference in such a simple change. Great work all around as usual.

Thanks Chad. I've never cleaned the motor, I don't think it's an issue keeping it clean I guess. Personally, I wouldn't paint it, I like the aluminum.
