With the two different front ends, the pics must be from early in the development stages.

Lets see the rest of your concept, John.

those pics are being removed from every website that GM finds them on.

Yeah, that's why I didn't post 'em on here. Guys over on that forum are emailing them around already. To remove 'em woul dbe like trying to put your finger in all the holes in the leaking dam.

I think GM definately did a nice job atleast as far as the direction of these photos show. Very hot - loving that front end!

I love the car overall.

A couple things I am not too crazy about. the side mirrors look like daggers or something. The headlights...I dunno just don't look quite right. I would like to see something round. From the doors back the car is on track, awesome body.

I think Chevy is making a big mistake if it looks anything like that. the majority of the people want a more retro look, like the Mustang and the Challenger spy photo.

I understand that its just a concept and its not a real car you can see the jack stands under it holding it up.
I hope that this was a big marketing/publicity scam by GM and the car they unveil in January will be more retro looking.

If Chevy wants camaro sales to compete with the Mustang and the upcoming Challenger you would think it would be more retro looking.

Can you explain to me how you update a retro design, or refresh it?..Is Ford going to do a Mustang II next?....Retro, to the extent the Mustang is done is great short term, for a few years, until everyone has one, then how do you make a new design for the Mustang, when for all practical purposes, this one was was designed 40 years ago? A modern and forward looking car with some retro touches is a much better way to go in my opinion....

Sure, a lot of people like the new (old-wannabe) mustang, but will the next one go "modern" again? Where do you go from there? If it changes too much, people will have the same "that's not a mustang" attitude that they have (for no reason...) with the current GTO. (...couldn't "ruin" the GTO name any worse than they did in '74)

With this camaro, it's easy... go completely modern, or have the next one have some cues from the early 2nd gens. Either way works.

Look at the all the potential sales that the new GTO has lost with the looks. Lots of diehard fans that just didn't buy it cause of the bland styling.

Oh well its just my opinion.

It's modern with "STYLING CUES" from the past.. in other words you can tell that it's a Camaro without it being too retro..

Retro dosen't last long in the marketplace.. just look at the PT Cruiser..

Love the car, hate the deadly looking sideview mirrors.. lol

Is anyone else let down that these pictures made it out? I mean, we all know that the pics are from an early design excersize (two different versions of the front fascia, etc), and what we will see next month will be vastly refined and polished.

You guys should really take note of the above statement.

I like that car, but hopefully the real thing will be even more mind blowing.

I just wish GM would get away from the "smiling" front end treatment... the bowed-up edges really don't work with the car. Same with the rear.. they make the car curl up and appear less aggressive.

I agree with that comment. Hopefully it is much more aggressive styling wise.

It would appear it's now OK for these images to be out and about. So on the tiny chance somebody hasn't seen it yet, it's on the homepage of CamaroZ28.com.

Tony - What makes you say that this is NOT the concept. :_paranoid

I really don't believe the Challenger Spy Shots are real either. As a marketing scheme, why not let something - be it accurate or not - out to create a "Buzz" to see if the product will fly and monitor the response on websites like this. Smart in my opinion.

Per an indirect request from General Motors, we have removed the leaked image of the 2009 Camaro concept from the front page of this site.

Once the images were leaked and spread like wildfire, we had the understanding that the damage was done and released our image.

We recently just received indirect word that GM still does not wish to have their copyrighted intellectual property on display at this time, even if the intentions are for GM's benefit. We have no problems complying with requests such as this as we understand that the images are property of GM, and not ours.

We apologize and ask that you please understand the reasoning behind this.

See - They are watching! :_paranoid Total exercise IMO, market buzz.

Take the feedback that everyone all over the world has provided, further enhance, further develop....give the population a car that they WANT to drive instead of settling for.

Of course they're watching. There are three members of this board (That I know of, could be more) that work for GM.

No market buzz, no hype; someone stole the pics and distributed them around the web IMO.

I really hope this car is an amazing piece. Truthfully, I have NEVER purchased a brand new car. I have always been the type to buy a beater and put a ton of cash in either my house or a nice old car. I have told myself that when my firebird is done, I will purchase my first new car. I was leaning towards a Mustang or Vette, but I really want a Camaro. I wont 'settle', but I hope it is something to behold.

Apparently the Mustang guys don't share the same viewpoint on the issue, as it is still visible in their forum. I guess we couldn't expect them to comply with GM. They're on the 'dark' side...
