Have you tried asking Tyler? I hear he is like Brenda Priddy when it comes to getting spy shots of Anvil parts... Just know because he is like her the spy photos might fetch a pretty penny.

No spy shots as of yet. The tooling isn't done. I'll post when we have the first part in hand to show you all.

damn im strong...... maybe i'll dig mine out tomorrow and see, unless someone else has a number. my guess is somewhere in the 85-100lb range. my wife helped me put it on last time, and theres no way shes lifting more than 50 lbs as easy as she did. but then again, maybe.

Yea me either. I am still in need of some lower torsion hood springs as well. Also not sure if the stock torsion bars for the trunk will be ok to use with the carbon deck lid.

i shot all of my sample colors today, so i had to dig the hood out anyways. drum roll............ 75lbs. now i had to sort of balance it on the scale since my 225+ the hood exceeded the scales limit, but i did it more than once and that should be pretty damn close.

there was a thread on the camaro forum about a guy that used shocks and got rid of his trunk torsion springs. he was then able to pop the trunk and have it open under some control, instead of flying open as it does in stock form. all that was required was the weight of our deck lid and the formula did the rest. i eventually will get there.......

75lbs. WOW! I wonder what the weight of the carbon hood will be? That shock seems like a trick idea. We'll see what I plan on doing when the parts come in.

Anvil is tooling off of my hood, deck lid, and a-pillars, so technically I will be getting them in trade. So count me out, otherwise i'd definitely be in.

Yea I hear that. The car is pretty straight. Matt and Tyler came down to San Diego to get a close up look of the car and they deemed it good enough to tool off of. Once I see anything I will let you guys know, that is if i'm allowed. lol Anvil has had the parts since the middle of December last year, so I am hoping it is nearing a completion date. This San Diego heat is giving me the itch to drive her again.

I wonder how a carbon hood would go with my cyber gray metallic...
Though I don't see a market for the 70-72 monte hoods any time soon.

Which cowl hood are they making? The factory cowl hhod minus the flapper door? That would be the hood I'd be interested in! And a trunk lid!

Nope. Probably gonna be a while. They have had it since the middle of December, and all I heard from Matt was that it was taking longer then planned because of the size and what not.

Hey Tyler,

Whats the progress looking like on the deck lid and a-pillars?

Teetoe_Jones
05-13-2010, 02:52 PM
It's all being done at the same time. Everything will be ready together. No pricing for any of it as we need to see how much material we use in each mold and how long it takes to make each one. Soon young Jedi.
