View Full Version : New Logo/g-Shirt design

I'm having Tavis Highlander develop a new logo/shirt design and this is what he has come up with. There are 2 versions, one has the Large G on the background as grey, the other has it as red. I prefer the red as it ties into the text logo that's on the front. What do you guys think?

I'm a little up in the air on the "L-G" as the background on the back of the shirt. I think it makes for a clean background, but I'm open to input. And yes, it's a little narcissistic using my own car, lol. Ultimately, I'd like to do another version with another car, perhaps having a series using different makes/models of cars.

Anyways, I wanted an updated design that would represent muscle cars, performance, handling, driving, etc... get the vibe of our community in one easily identifiable image/design.

What say you?

Damn! Those look great!

I like the large "G" in the background done in Gray as opposed to Red.

With the large "G" being red, it gets visually mixed up with the car.

Other than that...Wouldn't change a thing.

Where do I place my order? :D

X2. I agree in that the red gets lost with the car. The grey looks great I think.

I've been thinking instead of the LG background to have some more track showing as a background, either with or without cars. Maybe a hill, some section of track, and a fence, tire wall, whatever. Something simple and probably just black and white to get more feel of being at the track. Stuff like these are what I'm thinking of, the backgrounds shown done in simple line drawings.

I like those ideas Jody. I like the cork screw shot of the Mule and vette.
Just replace the vette with another PT car from Lat-g.

this site, it should have split spokes on the car. I agree the red background G mixes with the car too much.

I'm with Jody, the L-G background doesn't fit. I think a gray something, track, road, fence etc. would be great. Either way I'm in. XXL please.

Jody and I have discussed the background, the problem with a background like that is how to give it a border. It can't simply fade out, it has to have an edge to it.

It looks great so far! Very appealing. I agree that the red mixes too much with the "G", but I also think that the G has to stay the same color from front to back. (And the red looks great with the black background BTW.) Out of the process of elimination have you thought about changing the color of the car just to see how it looks? Or even white with red stripes to keep the color combination? I did that on a flier I was working on (used my car but changed it's color).

Using a curved track for the background was also something I was working on with my old website logo/banner, but it was too difficult for me to get it to look good. But I was thinking for this that a single swoop or curve (from the corner of the bottom windshield) on the left hand side in the opposite direction may balance it out as well.

Awesome shirt there Scott but can we get options like just the Big Lateral-G logo on back and small one in the front corner or a Chevelle over a Camaro for us Non F-body guys? If so I'llbuy 2 shirts fast!

Logo looks awesome! I do think the grey "LG" on back looks better as the red seems to blend with the red Camaro. Can't wait to get a shirt! Scott, are you going to have any kids sizes?

XcYZ

After much discussion with a lot of people, including the shirt printer, the G will be red on the Black shirts that I ordered. When I order white shirts, I'll probably have the G in grey.

I should have the shirts in 2 weeks. I'll keep you guys posted. :lateral:

Corey, no kids sizes, but I'll send you a PM.

Could it be done with out the car? I have nothing against Camaro's, but I feel it is rather biased in representing the entire spectrum of Lat-G members.

its got scotts car because originally that was lateral-g "was" a website/blog to show his project to other, so that why that car is and will always be the lat-g logo/car.

also because theres only two types of cars - Camaros and everything else.:P

We are out numbered! This might as well be a Camaro/DSE forum.

because Camaro's are very popular and DSE is a great company. We like a lot of different cars and Scott has spent a ton of time with his monthly featured rides which represent many different types of cars and suspensions.

I know why the car is there, and am not trying to disrespect the car, Scotts effort, or Camaros in general. I LOVE Camaros, but not everyone wants to wear one on their shirt. If the shirt is to be sold to the masses, then shouldn't it appeal to the masses?

GregWeld
11-22-2010, 06:14 PM
It does appeal to the masses... that's why there's so many builds of Camaros... because EVERYBODY loves 'em.

:D

You should really just give it up - cause on this site you're not going to win.

I own a 72 Chevelle and a 68 SWB C10. I don't have a Camaro and probably never will. But, I love the hell out of the car. Who doesn't?? I wish I did have a 69 Camaro and hope to own one some day. Regardless, it's just a t-shirt. If you represent the Lateral-g family, then do just that. It's just a freaking t-shirt. It matters not what car is on the shirt. Either you want one or you don't. It almost like 2 kid brothers sitting at the dinner table and one brother is mad because he has 12 french fries on his plate and his brother has 13.....geesh. Let's be big boys here fellers. That's all, carry on. Nice shirt by the way. I love it and nicely designed too :lateral:

Not a huge Camaro fan, but it's tough to beat a dialed in 69. Shirts look way bitchin. I'll certainly take a couple. Great job.

Not sure if it would fly with anyone else, but I'd love to have the gray design on a red shirt. I'm just on a red shirt kick I think.
