We're going to use a new head on the market also, more info when they arrive. Should make 1000 HP on race tune and 700-750 for the street. I will also be tweaking the factory traction controls to control the power, and if not will be using a Racelogic traction control system.

You suck.
And oh yeah, I want a ride. :D

Tom,
This is a new 05 GTO. Trying to make a "poor mans" SL65! Won't be nearly the car as the Mercedes but should be fun.

WITH 1000 horses, it will be relatively wicked. We all look forward to the build up.

Umm.... Yeah.... So, you need to let me know when it's set up. I'm apparently one of the few that like the GTO for what it really is. And yours will be the devil in disguise. Charlie can have fun with his toys. You sir.... :hail:

I will also be tweaking the factory traction controls to control the power, and if not will be using a Racetronix traction control system.
Do you mean Racelogic Traction Control?
Also is this an Aluminum based LS2 motor? Factory GM block? Are they up to that kind of power output reliably?
I am very interested in this build as it is something that i am considering it for my 69 Camaro.

Yes, Racelogic, sorry. Aluminum LS2 block and according to W2W and many others they're good to beyond 1000 HP.

Looks good Jody,
Wheel to Wheel does some nice stuff. Saw them at PRI show last week. :hail:
When will the heads be ready? You'll have to put up a Dyno vid when they start leaning on it. That would be way cool.

The new ET 240's with some W2W magic thrown in. They are supposed to be a very nice head from those that have seen them.

AWESOME. What a great project. You will have so much fun in this car.
Maybe we should kick the E55 to the curb and use this for the SEMA taxi next year!! Of course since I know the streets pretty well, I drive!!!!!!!!!

That's fine, it's going on Power Tour next year. I've already booked rooms and flights. Driving to SEMA isn't a bad jaunt for me.

I have a smile on my face as I type this, thinking you will have a ball in this car.
With W2W doing the motor, it should run great. Congrats Jody, you deserve it man.
Keep us posted.

Sweet, I'm thinking of getting the ET 215's for my N/A 346, and then go with some LT headers and a ported TB. Boy it would be nice to put down 450+ rwhp N/A with a stock 346.

Also that will be no poor mans SL65, it will be real cool in its own way, plus more people can fit.
Poor mans computer enhanced SL65 = New Z06.

Jody, what are the plans for the "old" motor? Also, did you say you had already booked your rooms for the power tour stops? PM info if you do not mind. I have signed up, but need to make the room reservations.

I'm keeping the stock LS2 to put back in when I sell the car. I don't say "if" anymore because I always sell my cars!

What's the max boost the motor might ever see?

I'm hoping 17-18 psi will meet the race needs. Street would be in the 12 pound range.
